All Righty ... What are you doing today ?

It's Christmas Eve and I'm getting ready for my chiropractor appointment. After that, I'm coming home to spend the rest of the day on the bench trying to finish something up. I sure hope I can get some good progress done today before it is time to head out for Midnight Mass.

All Righty ... What are you doing today ?

Well, here it is much later and I tried to spend some time on the workbench. A friend of mine called; an old (he's 78) Korean guy named Gregory who had recently had surgery on his back and could barely walk and couldn't drive. He called asking for my help to drive him to the store to get some last minute Christmas shopping done and then to deliver one of the presents to another one of his friends. Afterward, he treated me to dinner at the Golden Corral. I had just enough time to get home afterward to get dressed and head out to my church's Christmas Mass. That was my service to Our Father and His Newborn Son.

What a glorious service that Midnight Mass was! Now I'm home, drinking some Jack Daniels before heading off to bed.

Christmas Day will be spent at my brother-in-law's house watching movies, eating turkey and later on, opening presents. No models of course, but one of her brothers usually gives me a $100.00 that I can spend at a Hobby Shop if I choose. I'll be back on Friday after Christmas, maybe with some pics of some progress I hope to make that day.


Barney, I envy you being able to sing those two solos for Christmas. Maybe some day I'll be able to join my choir too and do the same thing.

Crock pot mashed potatoes are steaming away for a few hours and I just put the horseradish rubbed top round roast in the oven...makes such an amazing gravy....brown sugar carrot bake still to make-- and the mother-in-law made a pecan pie.

Nothing model-related yet-- but a nice bottle of whiskey and a book on whiskey...and some table-top games to play with the family...going to see my mom on the weekend and might use the money she gives me to grab a kit or two-- although I have plenty in the stash...

BTW: Carol and I just got back from seeing Unbroken. It is a marvelous movie and a amazing story. I read the book when it first cam out... it is truly a page turner.

All the boxes and trash are gone, presents put away and left-overs in the fridge; another Christmas in the books. :coolio


i usually have all my shopping done by 1 December, Carol doesn't start shopping until the week before (she used to get a bonus check). Our styles didn't blend well this year, but she sees the sense in shopping earlier... less stress and you can really buy more and nicer presents when you start shopping early... you also avoid the crazy crowds on the 24th.

Lately it's been nothing but unsweetened lemonade so you got nothing to worry about anyone getting into your sodas.


James I haven't eaten anything since dinner (lunch for the rest of the world) yesterday. Still full and I got half a rib loin we'll be carving off this weekend.

Cindy just popped in, said she's going shopping and looked at me. I just waved at her and said have fun. Off to the bench!!

I got a lot of my Florescent lights replaced with LED and WOW, what a difference. I now see a seam on the top of the Eindecker that I didn't see before, and it's too late to do anything about it. Tarp anyone?

Since I failed to get our puppies anything for Christmas I was told I was being mean and it's just cruel.

So I submit this photo, taken in hiding to document the cruelty, as evidence in my defense.

How can I be so cruel to these innocent creatures!

Sounds like some fun times guys. I wish I could spend Christmas with my family, surrounded by all the kids my brothers and sisters all had. Christmas ain't Christmas unless you got kids around. Except when I spend it at Midnight Mass. That is my Christmas celebration!

Spent the day at the wife's brothers' house. Watched a number of movies on his U-verse, including Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, as well as Earth to Echo. Most interesting and fun movie that one. We also brought our copy of the Guardians of the Galaxy for them to watch. I love that movie!

Today the wife is at work all day so I have the entire day to spend in the Hobby Room. I hope I can this time and even make some progress! Merry Christmas to me!

Don't feel bad Bob, we didn't get anything special for our cats and they seem quite unconcerned. They are simply happy that we are still around and spending time with them.

Oh, and I had a pleasant surprise at my brother-in-law's house. I weighed myself for the first time in a while and found that I had dropped to 260 pounds even! That is the lowest I've been in five years! Time to schedule some more gym time!
