Dang Chad, when you going to be in Augusta? I'm in South Bend/ Plymouth Indiana next week for work, trying to work out meeting with Adam and Barney. Sounds like you're moving on so I guess we'll miss each other.

You have to go to the Augusta Hobbytown, tell him Bob from Greenwood sent you and you might get the club discount (You'll need it with him). Prices can be high compared to online prices but he's got it there, and new release stuff all the time.

I got back to the bench today after the very worst run of self-IT I've had in a loooong time. Just getting a Square card reader led me down a path I just didn't expect. After trying to update my phone I simply chose to use the wife's iPad for sales at ComicCon. Issues there resolved- but I discovered some boo-boos I've made on the IAR that will necessitate some unwelcome revisions. As may be expected, Magda the vampire will be your hostess. Oh, well- modeling is fun!

On the flip side- my 48-page, full-color, hardback art book has been printed and shipped. Here's a preview- and I will set up a web store so you can all order multiple copies. ;)

We had a very exciting weekend at the House of Loup. First up was the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball game at our high school baseball field. These awesome athletes competed against an all-star team put together by Sulphur's own Casey Daigle and his wife Jenny Finch-Daigle. Casey pitched for the Astros and Jenny is an Olympic gold medalist who also played pro softball. The WWAST is made up of soldiers and Marines wounded while deployed. The oldest member of the team lost his lower leg in Desert Storm.

If you ever get a chance to see these awesome athletes, please do. While the games are promoted as an exhibition style game to the public, these men play with passion and to win. They give it their all on the field and between innings apply talcum powder and other ointments on chafing and blistering skin.

Here they are poking fun at Willie Robertson from Duck Dynasty.

Here are more photos from the game. Game photos

Our little town of Sulphur, 20,000 +, and the surrounding communities raised over $324,000 for the team. That is 100,000 more than two years ago. Two two events separately raised the most money than any other WWAST event anywhere in the US.

Here are two fans enjoying the game.

And here is Ian with Jenny Finch-Daigle.

On Saturday our model club began work on repairing the hand made model of the USS Orleck for the USS Orleck museum in Lake Charles. The ship was built by a sailor who had served on the ship. Unfortunately the museum didn't have it enclosed in a case and the model was damaged by unattended children. :vmad

Along with the repairs we are correcting a few things without taking away from the hand crafted look of the model.

Day 3 of the Indiana tour, had a great meal with Adam and his better half at the Brass Rail downtown Plymouth last night. I ran out of cat stories but they were still going. Thanks for the entertainment kids, really enjoyed it! :drinks

Barney sure am sorry you're not going to be able to make it this trip, looks like I'm working Thursday anyway, my initial optimism has been unfounded. :blink Nothing major but little things breaking.
