All Righty ... What's on the bench today?

All Righty ... What are you doing today ?

Heading out today to do my IPMS club's E-board meeting and to finish all the hand-made awards for our local Orangecon contest in October.

dang Mark, y'all really take care of y'alls members. I know the winners will appreciate your efforts to award them. :good:

All Righty ... What are you doing today ?

This whole weekend has been a bit of a cluster. Initially we were going to go up to Portland for the model show at Evergreen Aviation. But then we heard that Sarah's sister was finally coming back home from out of the country after a year and a half. So we decided to cancel that trip to save the money until we could make a trip up there to see her. Well then she got stuck at the airport in Mexico City. Missed her flight by 10 minutes :bang head They actually had the time to take her bags off the plane. So then she was short on cash and everybody had to pitch in and help out. Finally everything worked out and she is on the way home. So today is just a lazy relax day. Might do some building on the Betty though.

Dang, hate you missed that show, would love to see that museum much less have a model show there. Someone question something, just turn around and look at the real thing :rotf

Glad your Sister is ok and on the way home. :zen

Yep I hated to miss it also. But figured Sarah's sister was more important that a show. There is always next years show. Maybe I will have something really nice to enter by then.

Thanks! Not just our members; anyone is welcome to enter into our show. And yes, we are getting quite the reputation for outstanding awards at our Orangecon; it is one of the largest and most well-attended model contests in Southern California.

Someday even I hope to bring one of them home. Maybe this year Dora will snag one! :yipee (y)

Nerdling, I'm glad your sister is okay too. Family comes first always; like you said, there'll be other shows.

All Righty ... What are you doing today ?

Man, what a weekend. My wife's grandfather passed at 4:30am this morning after spending the last week in the hospital, so today was a very rough day. We were about half way to the hospital when Joy's dad sent the msg that her grandad had passed. Spent the rest of the day helping her parents get things set up & arranged for the funeral on Tuesday. So the last week has been super stressful on top of all the other issues we already had going on. But he's no longer in pain, so we're thankful for that, and he's w/ his honey again.

Please think kind thoughts for my silver-haired mother who is undergoing a triple bypass this morning. :(

Surely will Chuck. Getting old is definitely not for sissy's . I suspect I might be one.

My condolences Adam, may he rest in peace. It's not easy losing someone, even if you know it's coming. I know you'll be strong for your wife. Take care.

Never easy to get that call/message Adam even if you know it's coming. lost my mother 3 years ago and it was a total surprise for everyone, she had done heart surgery many years before and were feeling fine, and then on a bustrip together with my father and friends she just collapsed after they had stopped for a break.
I was here in Belgium then, and my parents live in Sweden, i just wanted to drop everything i had and drive to there, but it was not going :( we went up following week, can't describe the feeling to give dad a big hug!
My deepest condolences to you and your wife and the family, He is beyond pain, together with he's loved ones.

Big sigh of relief- Mom made it through the operation with flying colors! Apparently a mere double bypass, ;) , but they did have to go in the hard way. Now it's six months of recuperation.
