A WIP of an Israeli M50 Sherman

Re: A WIP of an Israeli M 50Sherman

Don't know why you do it but we appreciate it, hard work sure pays off! (y)

Re: A WIP of an Israeli M 50Sherman

I suppose that's the case, LOL!

Sometimes you just feel like taking that extra step. I like to push my skills a bit here and there. I haven't screwed up a good kit yet!

Re: A WIP of an Israeli M 50Sherman

Here's where I'm at as of tonight.

I like the way the scratch built fenders came out. Typical of DML, the instructions leave a lot to be desired. They did though, have a diagram of the sides of the tank and what goes where along with metric measurements. Naturally I found those itty bitty diagrams after I completed the left side.

The smoke mortars are mounted now, and she's almost ready for primer.

Re: A WIP of an Israeli M 50Sherman

Snaps, oh those glorious snaps. Again I thought to my self, "Well it can't be that hard to replicate, can it?"

.020 rod and a lot of foul language later, the end result is as seen.

With the Christmas "cease fire" ended priming has begun. Right now everything is in Krylon gray. Pics to come.

Here we are in primer. Yes the barrel is white. I will tape off a stripe before painting the desert tan.

Re: A WIP of an Israeli M 50Sherman

I have become a full fledged Shermaholic. 54,000+ built, some still in service as of the beginning of the 21st Century, oh yes I'd say that constitutes variety. LOL!

Re: A WIP of an Israeli M 50Sherman

Thank you gentlemen, gentlemen thank you. She's been sprayed the base tan color and the enamel is curing as we speak. Good thing I've busy at work, no time to build, so the paint will be well and dry by the time I get back to it.

Thank you Moon.I actually made it home on time this evening.

We had a brief moment of anxiety on the strip today when two major casinos experienced a power outage. Once we determined it was just a transformer, not a person(s) responsible, I relaxed a bit. Just a slight bit though.............

Happy New Year everyone!
