25 Years on - Gulf War I

I started a reference page here;

https://www.modelersalliance.com/forum/the-real-thing/151186-25-years-gulf-war-i-campaign-reference#244791

I guess I could do the AMX 30 B2 here although I have a lot of pokers in the fire already.

Understood, James, but you don't have to commit that particular 'iron to the fire' until later on in the Campaign. That's seems to be the way my Campaign builds tend to go at the moment.

Ian.

This is the ship I went to the Gulf on. I meant to say Nitro the Pyro was the second ship. I stayed two and a half years on tha, we were out of Earl N.J. Freezing in the winter and sweltering in the summer. I slept many a night under the Captain's gig. Over in the P.G. at night it was cooler out side than in the rack.

Interesting. Had a buddy who was a ground pounder with the Army & his dad was on a tin can in the P.G. and he said basically the same thing! Don't recall which can he was on tho...

Assuming this goes official, I've got an F-16 kit & markings in my stash for an Aviano outfit I could run in conjunction w/ BM's NATO/Warsaw GB come April. I'll be watching this. B)

I'm assuming it was intended this Campaign should start on the 16th of Jan?

Forum is up.

I'm in for a Bradley. :soldier

You answered your own question.

From Ian's post earlier

Any subject, any scale that appeared in the 1991 Gulf War, both the build-up and the immediate post war 'police actions'.

I'm thinking Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm and the post war no fly zones.

I'm in. Not sure what yet though.
I had a classmate who died in a 160th SOAR MH-60 crash while returning from picking up a group of Delta guys.

RIP Chris Chapman!
Hawks rule my friend!

That right there. I don't think there could possibly be a better subject matter, unless you've already done a tribute build in the past. :salute

If I did do a build of his copter, it would be in 1/48 scale. I love the size of the 1/35 helos, but bigger just takes longer to build (that's obvious!).
I just have his tail # and that's it. I don't know if he had any cowling art or not and I guess it was a standard early 90's MH-60L with the snoopy nose and FLIR similar to the Gothic Serpent birds.
