I decided to start this last night. The figure is well defined with good detail. The flesh tones were done using a airbrush and Tamiya paints. Then a oil wash of burnt sienna mixed with raw umber was applied. I like how it looks, but I know I'm not finished. Suggestions and idea's are welcome. Here are some pictures. Some with flash and some without.

Thats a very cool way to start the figure. I'll have to try it. I cant offer any suggestions, its too early in the process. I'll follow with great interest :popcorn :D

...very nice fig.,try some washing and drybrushing on the beard and hair...it will improve so much...about the flesh tonnes try more contrast between in the colors (shadows and highlights)...Good luck,myfriend!

Pulling up my chair and :popcorn . This guy looks awesome. The expression on his face is amazing. You have really brought him to life with those eyes. :notworthy
