1/9 SCALE TEMPLAR BY ANDREA

Working on the helmet today. I'm not quite happy with it yet, but here is how things stand.

Looking good Terry. I dont know if this will help or not, but when I did brass on a white metal figure I shined it up. Then put on burnt sienna oil paint. I then kept brushing off the excess oil paint until I had a dark burnished look. Then sprayed on Tamiya clear yellow (Orange should be good too for a darker metal).

I'm thinking I will go to all steel. I want something not so fancy and more worn looking. I will store away your idea for use later though. Thanks (y)

Terry :hmmm

Looks great to me so far Terry. So what paints are you using on him?

On the helmet I'm using Model Master paints. The helmet looks a little fancy for a Templar Sargent. He needs to look more like a common soldier.

Thanks!

Thanks for liking the helmet, but I didn't. The more I looked at it the more I thought looked out of place compared to the rest of the figure. So I repainted it to be all steel. Weathered it with burnt sienna and dry brushed with silver. When this is fully dry I think I will added a pin wash around the details. The helmet is now attached and the chin strap added.

A pin wash might add that bit of rust that is difficult to get rid off in the field look :good:
