Okay guys. Keeping with my ships of Louisiana theme, I've started the USS Orleans Parish.

Using the Skywave LCT kit, I sanded down the ridges on the hull and deck.

Because she spent most of her time as a mine squadron flagship and logistic support vessel, I want to show her at sea. so, I closed up the bow doors which has a nasty gap.

More progress to come.

I finally made myself go work on a model. I found the rest of the of the pieces two the two LSTs I had started last year. So now I have 4! :yipee

Masks are cut for the two D-Day LSTs, the Caddo Parish and Catahoula Parish. The US Navy didn't start officially naming LSTs until after the war.

Almost missed this Kenny, that's some mighty fine cutting.

Sucks about all those mothballed LSTs. I've read they have a couple still in working order on tour.

Working on the LSTs today. Riddle me this. How to you get a small Landing Craft Tank to England for Operation Neptune? Load it on an LST of course! I just ordered two 1/700 LCT-5s from Loose Cannon Models.

I got some work done this afternoon. New mast, bracing on the davits and the beginning of new prop guards.

Progress for today.

Added some PE doors and finished up the prop guards.

And I started adding the guns. These are the 40mm and 20mm mounts from Fine Molds.
