The island in the background is Pitcairn island. HMS Bounty is on display in 1787 after she had divested herself of Captain Bligh in her Cutter. Only the one small boat left aboard. Her C/A glue "shinies" have been flatted and awaits anchors.
HMS Bounty was a mold-filler. She is not my intellectual property, as such she cannot be sold as a TLAR Models kit. She IS a "casual freebie" for Royal Navy history nuts and can be included, by request, with any model purchase from tlarmodels.com

This morning's order was "All Hands! Make Sail!"
So both of mine turned to.
HMS Speedy's main gaff boom is too long by about 1/3, but I like it. She's my Brig. I will do exactly as I please.
What's in a name?

The "Make Sail command does not limit one to a single vessel. The 1785 Bonhomme Richard will be included in this evolution.
One must be in the proper state of mind to hang 1/700 scale "toilet paper".
Not too much coffee, and appropriate music.

Big ships (?!?) are MUCH easier to rig than smaller ones in this scale.

Bonhomme Richard has her mast platform ratlines and 2 more sails. Hint: Ratlines before yardarms and sails! Install the LH ratline first, so you aren't reaching over yourself for this delicate operation. Don't worry overmuch about c/a glue shinies. There an old model ship trick to fix that. "Hanging toilet paper" went well today.

We got some sad news today from our neighbor, and my model mojo waned. My oldest and most respected friends are being called Home it seems. It is the nature of Life.

Teresa womped up a shiny, new cat-hair-free pink crochet basket, and I filled it with chocolates that are supposed to make wimmin-people feel cheery. We had a short visit and delivered our card and stuff.
Carla only wept a little when she read the card, and laughed out loud at the coupin. She filled in the blanks on Darrell's passing.
We did something. It was almost silly (as usual), but it helped.

I have free instruction sheets for 2 of Henry Turner's 1/700 Napoleonic sailing ship gaming designs. It seemed fitting to produce a mold of parts needed to make the masts and rigging more model-like, if one desires to do so. I imagine I will include popular lengths of copper phosphor wire in the appropriate diameters as well, to offer for sale. I cannot in good conscience sell the HMS Speedy or Bounty ships, but I can peddle my own hard work.

I'm making sail again. The Master debacle is almost resolved. A few of the new ones are better than the originals. Devon at Reynold's Materials was a big help in devising mixing procedures for MoldMax 10.

I have Boccarini on, that last lively tune in "Master and Commander", feeling cheerful. Then I began to contentedly whistle along to the music.
Though small in scale, these sails catch a breeze as the real thing might. They sailed off EVERYTHERE!

It could be time for a new cottage cheese lid. C/A spots are a detriment to sail making.
