1/700 Aircraft. I'm stuck in "Teeny" Gear! Zorn!

Man-O-Man that's some very tiny work. Great looking tiny work, truely Braille scale, excellent workmanship ... :pilot :pilot :pilot

Loaded up the old Aztek :eek:ldguy and shot the 1/350 MiG-21 Fishbeds last night. Floquil Old Silver, a Railroad Paint.
IMG_4308.JPG

Old Silver is a lot less grainy than Model master's 'Loomium! :dance
IMG_4309.JPG

7 1/350 Sov MiG's got painted. :good: "MiG's on a Steek! Get 'em while they're hot! They're lovely!"
IMG_4310.JPG

Mr. Badger came by, and caught himself some Old Silver as well. After additional drilling, shaping, snapping off of landing gear, in one case, Mr. Badger is shaping up pretty well! Gonna paint the Kennel missiles today!
IMG_4306.JPG

2 E.E. Lightnings got re-hosed too! Much better!! It occured to me, these two may have met before!
IMG_4307.JPG

Just struck me.....You probably just washed more paint out of the AB. than what you actually sprayed :rotf

Saving on parking space as well (y) (y) (y)

Cheers, Christian B)

I AM sure I spent more time coaxing to old Aztek to work properly, than I did painting! :bat :vmad
I did shoot most of the smaller side feed cup, counting the Lego mini-figure Rocketeer & Predator Helmets I played with as well!
IMG_4311.JPG

No, storage is not truly a problem, but no one ever goes to a Show and enters a 1/700 scale TU-16 Badger, do they? :pilot

Good point Chris :good: You should :good: win hands down......

That also explains how my 1/72 Kettenkrad won 2/3 first places when I only took it as a tow vehicle for a German bird .Never had intended to enter it in anything :rotf Accidental wins :facepalm

Cheers, Christian B)

 :hmmm (y) (y)

Mr. Badger is getting his Soviet markings. These red stars came from a Skywave decal sheet. I'm still hunting for numbers I like.
IMG_4319.JPG

The vendor I bought these from says the missiles are AS-6 Kelts. It would be rare to see Mr.Badger very far from home, carrying 2 Kelts. These are nifty little Bombers, and if I had a gripe, it would be the Kelts are hung from their pylons upside down. :stinker No, I won't be fixing 'em! :gogo

Phantom, NONE of your wins are accidental!!
You make a fine model, and your wins are WELL DESERVED!! :v :notworthy (y) :good: :dude :salute
"Flavor of the Day" may enter in to it. :hmmm

Color for Mr. Rocketeer's helmet & jet pack comes from a Tamiya Gold Flake paint pen. Tamiya clear smoke for the lenses, and some Floquil Old Silver highlights. the final step will be a mist of dilluted Tamiya clear orange, for a more bronze-ish look, a coat of Tamiya clear smoke, shot unpside down, for shadows, them a Model Master Metalizer Sealer, to increase play value! :silly: :pilot

More progress on the "MeeGs on a Steek" part of the show. :geek
IMG_4345.JPG

Cold War bomber escort mission, White Oak style! :pilot I wonder where they were going? The Fishbed won't get far without external tanks, but He'll get there FAST!
IMG_4347.JPG

I wonder how you say "Goose, it's time to buzz the PT boats!" in Russian?
IMG_4346.JPG

Overall Floquil Old Silver. Tamiya Clear Smoke Canopy, Floquil Kulula green intake shock cone. Tamiya acrylic flat black for the jet inlet.

Looking good Chris :coolio Seems like the Russians once had a aerobatic team with a hand full of red 21's

Just a passing thought :hmmm

Cheers, Christian B)

Lookie! My 1/700 T-2C/E Buckeyes came yesterday!! :yipee
Bought from Shapeways designer Echoco, these are the finest 3d printings I've ever seen. :notworthy
Scale thickness flying surfaces, dainty landing gear, with printed on scale doors, even! The jet exhausts are even recessed for easier drilling!
Clever Echoco prints them in this cage-sprue, and that even fits through the neck of a bottle of Future for dipping! :zen
IMG_4395.JPG

There IS a catch. :( The sprue must be MOST GENTLY snipped off!! I snipped mine with enthusiasm, and the landing gear VANISHED from the shock of the nippers closing. :frantic I found a couple, and C/A gel glued them back on. :bang head I hope the Future-Dip helps "Clunkify" the gear legs a bit, so when I more carefully snip, they will stay on the Jet. Thicker main gear doors would be an asset here.
IMG_4396.JPG

What to do............. :hmmm Trusty White Ensign Models to the rescue!! (y)
The single gear legs should work, and the F6F-3 Hellcat gear doors can be trimmed to closely resemble the T-2 main gears covers! :yipee
IMG_4397.JPG

The Learjets came too! The same thing happened, but only the nosegear took a powder on them. Yes, 2 of them DO have their cabin doors open. :good:
IMG_4398.JPG

Stay tuned, My Brothers, for more dinky-scale silliness!!
