1/16 scale Tiger 1 early.

Pulled the trigger on Andy's 1/16 scale Tiger 1, Early. I debated the purchase, but I decided to do it for a few reasons... I've never built a model of the Tiger, I'm not getting any younger and I want to see just how big this model is.

Looking at which Tiger to represent. I think the new unit number 113 painted over the faded old numbers on this one as well as the Mammoth insignia from the 502 Heavy Battalion looks interesting. Here is a decal sheet for that tank. I don't believe the paint color shown is right, though? I'll be masking and airbrushing on the numbers. This Tiger doesn't have side skirts and it looks like it's missing at least one front mud guard. I think it's in the Panzer Grey paint with what looks like worn winter wash? Or maybe mud smeared on it? Anyway I like the look.

The winter white wash usually didn't last very long and it would not have looked soft edged like this has. Also the trees have leaves on them and no cold weather clothes. My guess is that it is the sand color with green and/or brown camo added.
Definitely an interesting build for a Tiger.
