Larrys Dragon

A buddy of mine got into 3 D printing and made this for me, hes not a model builder, just likes to play around in his retirement.
As I slowly am trying to get back into the hobby I painted this.
The dragon is a spray of thinned Tamiya clear blue, base is the same with a few coats of unmixed flat white on the ice and testors MM Classic white enamel for the base. I used some other blues on the body. Ill call this done unless I try to touch up anything.
The bottom pic is obviously the original color of the resin, I dont know what type he used.

Looking pretty good!

It's not how old the paint is, it is the condition. I have a LOT of paint that goes back to the '80s that is still good for whatever I want to do. Occasionally a bottle turns to goo and gets sent to file 13.

Ive a rack of the old Testors candy colors as Ive always called them that are still good and over a decade old. And 2 one oz bottles of Floquil gloss black. To me that was the best stuff. As Ive been going through my paint Ive tossed a large coffee can of jelled up Model Master ect, though my Tamiyas have been fine. Im holding off buying anything until i really need it. though i did pick up 4 AK paint pens.

You don't see a blue Ice Dragon everyday! This is a gaming piece then?
That layering/texture is what I find off putting about some 3d prints. It takes a lot of extra work to smooth all that down.
