I've wanted to do a shark fin B17 for a long time. Why not build the only one that still exist today.

She's actually two aircraft as the tail is from another after it was damaged during a 35 minute running gun battle with 3 Zeros.

No pictures yet, they'll be coming.

Not sure which incarnation I'll do, she served out the war in NMF while serving as a high speed transport, but the battered and abused OD scheme is REALLY interesting.

Very cool.

I always chuckle when I read about major double shift overhauls updating a damaged 17 to an E late in the war, when a few months from then the desert will be full of miles and piles of bomber frames. It would make sense early in war, or if it was Germany or Japan, but by then the US was pumping out a 24 or 29 every what...93 minutes?

The Academy kit Paul, 1:72. They have decals in it but not sure what era they want you to build. Swoose was rebuilt a couple of times from what I can tell.

I am not familiar with that kit. I have the old Koster conversion for the Revellogram B-17 F in my stash and wondered if you were going to attempt fate. :hmmm

B-17's are just an awe inspiring airplane with those big 4 engines and guns everywhere.
It's no wonder they picked "flying fortress". That plane is just a monster!
