BV 138 Flying Clog

Thanks for dropping in Dave . :)

Since yesterday's discovery of the problems there has been a lot of super glue added to the gaps .
Layers of Mr. surfacer have been added and sanded while I was thinking on possible repairs of the most troublesome places .

Some were outright carved out and some are now being grafted with additional stock.

Never seen this done before, so I hope I can blend them in :hmmm

Thanks for looking. Cheers, Christian B)

I thing so, but it's definitely not in a good place to stand....and the plastic card is a lot softer than the plastic . Leading edge is now a drop off :S ARgggghhh !

Good on you for keep plugging away at it, I know you'll tame it eventually :zen :zen Me, I'm gonna keep looking for that illusive 1/48 scale resin kit :gogo

Hope you have loads of money . Free shipping . Cheers, Christian B)

Christian,

It is always good to see someone willing to take on the "easy" kits. :good:

Seriously, This looks to be a unrelenting SOB and it is good to see you plugging away. If you ever get THAT frustrated, drop me a line. I "know a guy" who will be happy to blow it into tiny pieces. He does it for me all the time. :yipee

HI Barney. Nice of you to look in on me :)

Not only do I do the easy kits but I build all the ones that you seldom see :D Mainly because I have built the others years ago. I mean I have 5 Bf 109 and three Spitfires . Just how many does one collection need ?

As far as unrelenting goes, this kit is going together much better than the Octopus Duck or the Italeri GO 244 did.

I have no explosives ( the local police have a dim view on that ) but there are plenty of other means of disposal if need be . Thank you for the reference though :good: .

Cheers, Christian B)

Happy to be of service... the Cleveland cops also take a dim view of personal demolition items, but so what? A man has the right to protect his property and land mines, claymores, and machine guns nests are so much better than 911. :zen

I try to limit my attempts at difficult kits as much as possible... My trashcan is a mute testament to all the junkie kits I have worked on and gotten frustrated with. :vmad

Hello all ! :)

For those of you that were concerned this thing might sink in one of my ponds to never be seen again . Thanks for your concern but :soldier Ain't gonna happen .

I cleaned and scribed the wing floats and after looking at some pix, decided to make a few improvements .

The ailerons are something else again . Truly a strange idea . Didn't fit any better than the rest, so this is what I came up with rather than trying to glue them in place.

So now , all the major components are on and primed except for the floats and stab braces .

Hopefully , in the next couple of days I can make any stray scribe disappear from the outer wings and then the fun can really start . :D

It's these kits that bring out your true modelling skills, and yours are shining Christian !
Damn fine work on this one, such an interesting and seldom seen model.

Looking forward to the finished photos! :drinks

As always , thanks for supporting my vices with your encouragements . :rotf

Luiz, Bob, Dave, James ,Phil and Chuck.

Monumental! Just the fun parts left after all that monkey- wrenching. Thanks Chuck. The monkeys don't scare me as bad as Dave's spiders :)

As I was handling this monster and trying to get some of the small pieces attached I decided I needed to come up with a work stand . Actually , two .

The painting started in a small way .

I hope I can paint more tomorrow :fencing

No cad drawings were used, no C&C or jet cutters were used :good:

I only used a box cutter metal rule and a pencil . I recycled box of cat necessities :rotf

Anyhow, not much to see but the stand work as good as if money would have bought them :coolio

Thanks for looking. Cheers, Christian

Looks good with the primer on. Wouldnt know how much work it cost you. Looks flaweless from my seat.
