Micro Model Month 2026

The one I did last year I didn't finish till May. Not a biggie, just one of those things. I also use it to try and build efficiently and to learn to build a little faster.

Not about speed, or efficiency. I can build quickly and efficiently. After years of Magazine deadlines, etc., the fun goes away, and with it the mojo. So I told David at MMI, "No more deadlines, or I will have to stop publishing." He is okay with it, so now I do what I want, when I want, and finish it when I choose. If it's nice out, I am in the garden or mowing the lawn. MY time is MY time.

I get it John, I am 69 and still working. Mainly due to an early divorce and 10 years of under the gun to pay for it early on. I am looking at another 4 or 5 years and then I can retire and maybe do what I want when I want. Hopefully that plan will work out and I will be able to move back to Oklahoma and be with my daughter and son-in-law. I can hardly wait! Just hope it works out and I get enough more years after to enjoy it.

For now it could always be worse. It could always be a lot worse, so I am content.

I hope you get the time you want…

I have put together some options for the CA pallets. There is the quad, some doubles, or a single large pallet (which is what I use "A LOT"). These blocks are all plywood and the crystals are all sapphire so they are fairly scratch resistant. They "can" be scratched and chipped, but I just use a razor blade to scrape off the dried CA. It will start drying/setting up over a setting, and will be fully set overnight. The Bob Smith medium CA will come up and is a little flexible. Some others like the CA you buy at Hobby Lobby is quite brittle and will scrape off as very small chips that look like small broken tempered glass bits.
All you need to do to get one of these is to finish you MMM project before April 1. I have decided to make several sets with other goodies added in. Depending on how many finish their projects as to how many I will make up and with what goodies.
