I have been following a couple of sales on the internet auctions over here 2x

1:8 scale model of a 1932 Alfa Romeo Spider Touring​

One looks to be nicely completed and one fully boxed with sealed bags, the complete one went for £80 GBP and the boxed unstartled went for £100 GBP
Both these prices are approx. 1/3 of what they would have been a couple of years ago when i bought my built Alfa Spider which is still in its box as i never got round to unpacking it This is also a lot less than i got for some completed Italeri builds i sold for charity a while back.

How times and markets change.

I was going to sell mine as i dont want it but TBH by the time you have paid the auction site 20% and postage both ways its almost scrap really.

Understand, I got some things that are worth some money but I guess one of my nephews or nieces will get it when they sell off the estate whenever.

Coming from the world of motorcycles i know things can go from collectable to worthless very quickly With models its predictable as a lot will be re issued but with things like cars and bikes originality is key but they are of value to investors not riders and so the market is really grounded on their distance from the financial markets of the day and they can change over night.
The problem is when a better investment comes up they all want to sell their bikes and cars at the same time and markets will collapse.
