Northeast snow

So much for having a relaxing time off. :bang head Snow here in my area started at 0 dark thirty. For now,it is the light powdery stuff. Hopefully,it will remain that way. The heavy wet snow is hard on the snow blower.

Then,I get to dig the rig out. Getting the snow off the trailer roof will not be fun. Anymore, the states will fine us if the fuzz see the snow coming off the trailer.

I may call my company and insist they send someone to remove the snow from the trailer. I go back out Monday,so maybe the snow will be off the trailer by then.

Something is still falling in Columbia SC, so fine I can't tell if it was ice or what. Wind chill is around 27, and what was slushy yesterday is now a crunchy layer of ice. The rest is of course frozen solid- for us down here this is devastating. I didn't loose power last night, but some friends east of me and to the south did.

Be careful, the north may get it worse than us.

We had about 2-3" before dinner....

As of right now, it is very gusty and we are expecting a second band to hit in the early am and to drop 2-4" per hour for a spell...so I imagine I'll wake up and have to do it all over again...but we might get a snow day out of it...

Wasn't bad going into work at about 2:30 in the afternoon, only a couple or three inches of snow then. It picked up right after though. Went out to the butt hut about 5:00 and had 6 0r 7 inches on the ground. Changed to sleet/rain/freezing rain about 7 or 8 pm and has been that way since. Nice few inches of this on the roads. The state and city road crews have stopped plowing for now as if they scrape the roads they will just ice up worse. Made it home only to get stuck in the driveway :bang head :bang head Finally got the car parked and don't really give a crap anymore :ro: Home safe, got work in, house is warm, food in the fridge, wife not feeling well, maybe get some quiet time!

Well we got slammed. 20 inches officially, but with drifting it seems worse. My Lab stepped off the porch and disappeared. He's loving it, but since he just got fixed, the vet said no jumping, running, exercise and keep the stitches dry. Well, zero out of four isn't bad.

Amazon Prime saved us by delivering the Risk Walking Dead edition so we just hunkered down and fought off walkers and each other all night long.

Now I just got to get the digging out under way.

Heh heh Jeff...nope...the barn is on the left and that's my money pit towards the upper right. We ended up with a snow day...haven't measured yet but you can no longer see where I plowed so it's at least that much ;)

Three hours later and I made it to the street.

Turns out the bozo my neighbor hired to dig him out felt it was okay to blow the snow onto my property. Not that I'm moving, but I'll never get another house where my driveway runs next to the next. It wasn't bad with the original neighbor when we bought it, he was a great guy and retiree with a snowblower, so he loved clearing both driveways. The second neighbor was FDNY, so he'd come out when he saw me and stuck a few beers in the snow at the street and say' we drink when we get there. We're on the third neighbor and he sucks in general, but is even worse with snow. To top it off, I'm down the road from him so no matter what I do with the driveway cut, when he doesn't clear his, the next plow pass just seals me back up. Couple that with the fact with his 90 foot driveway, he only uses the last 20 of it, usually blocking us or the plow from coming close.

Hmm...weird. It was showing correctly for me...sorry guys! All told, after measuring in three different places to account for drifting snow we ended up with 20"...I'd post new pics but apparently when I upload direct from my phone, I apparently screw it up ;)

All ball-busting about the orientation of your pic aside, 20" of snow sucks. I've dealt with it before and the only thing you can do is "Embrace the Suck" and laugh about it later. Been there, done that. :drinks
