That colection of WW1 planes looks SWEET mate but I am very glad you stuck with the Gotha and finished it It sure is a good looker. (y)

Yes Bob the chopping was for the engines - Roden get the Gotha V at least out of this tooling, to make the IV you have to slice off the bits that the engines would sit above on the other version.
 
Thanks. Been a little while since I've done any WWI but Paul W kindly sent me his WNW 1/32 DH.9a as he didn't feel like finishing it. :drinks Paul!
Paul had put most of the pit together so I had to dismantle that first. I also thought the Liberty engine switch had been lost so I scratched a replacement out of spare sprue and PE. Once this had been painted and stuck in place of course I found the original piece on the floor - regurgitated out by my malicious carpet monster no doubt! :facepalm
