Wingnut Wings Moon Pup

Hey MP, just looking again and I hate to tell you, you got dust bunnies all over the plane. They really show up on the black.

Bob,
Try not to gloss up the prop. Give it a satin finish for scale effect.
The real thing would of lost its shine fairly quickly. The sandpaper effect caused by the elements and prop-wash.

Von Buckle ;)

Thanks! I still think I'll do that dope wrapped look.

Thanks Randy, Laura did the coaching on the paint job, never even though of painting black in shades of grey.

I cut the stars off the sheet in batches of maybe 15, flooded the surface and just rolled them off. Then wicked the excess water off and slapped some solvent down. There's only two spots where a pattern will be applied. Big Dipper and Little Dipper are on either side of the cockpit.

Did you hear it...?

Did you hear the blood curling cry that would make a sailor blush?

No reason you didn't in the crisp winter air.

Just finished rigging the last line on the landing legs...took the torch and heated up the sewing needle I"ve been using to tighten up the lines...last line and I was going to come get the camera to show off...snap...the line is gone...turned out the lights, party over. Came back up to the house to watch the history channel...

[bangs head on desk]

And the history channel was boring...Netflix time.

Ill do it again but it was on the most cantankerous side, that corner is going to be ugly before it's over.

Thanks for the encuragement Harv. That's exactly what I did. put the tools down, made sure the pup wasn't going anywhere, turned out the lights and turn on the TV. It'll all be there tomorrow. Down to ten days to finish this so I can clear the deck for the B1.

Gee Bob, just when I though you were having such a good streak too. Do you know where the turnbuckles are ? Hats off to you, it looks gorgeous. :)

Cheers, Christian

A little explanation of the Moon. When I applied it a while back it was not what I expected. totally void of the grey color for the outline and seas of the ol' man in the moon.

sent this shot of it to Rowan and he sent out a new set.

Just haven't cleared the pond yet, Christmas traffic and all. Keep hoping it'll be in the mail box any day now, but so far, no joy. I lifted the bad decal with 3M tape to find the missing grey on the underside of the white color. Seems someone at the printers got the sequence of colors backwards I guess.

So here's where we're at now. not much more to do and a lot of days off till January!

That happened to my Brummbar! :eek:hmy: No concrete blocks in sight, might have been aliens??:mpup
