Thinning Tamiya semi gloss clear

Phil

Active member
Guys, I want use semi gloss clear over the F4 I am doing, I cannot source my usual product which is Testors range of rattle cans, out of stock at my places of purchase.

I have a bottle of Tamiya X35 semi gloss clear but have never mixed a clear coat so in the dark on the mix ratio for airbrushing.

It's acrylic and I have Tamiya acrylic thinner so need a mix ratio for this.

Cheers,
Phil

Phil I always just add thinner till thin. I don't pay that much attention to the ratios. Someone long time ago shared his method of drip test. Thin, stick a wire in the paint, if the paint beads up and drips, then beads up again but don't drip, it's thin enough. Not sure that's beena hard and fast rule but it's worked for me.
