thanks Mike and James, yes it's a good thing to use paper but here it was so many corners and strange angles so i decided to go with thape all the way and the tamiya tape is working great! i used some household masking tape (freeze tape) on the tracks, and it was stuck pretty hard.

I am going to suggest usig this to your advantage, as jknaus has said ....looks cool...so go with it! make some paint just a hair shade different, and dab over it to give the effect of a pain repair done inthe field...see what I mean?
