Staghound Mk. III

With the cobbles all in place it is time to "grout". Spackle was spread on the street, sidewalk and wall with a small plastic spatula. With some damp pieces of sponge the spackle was worked into the joints and the excess removed

Started painting cobblestones tonight. The two main colours are Barley Grey and Dark Blue Grey, about a 50/50 split to start. For a bit more contrast, some were painted with Leather, Field Drab and Pale Grey Blue. They are a bit stark right now, but with any luck the earth tone filters and washes to follow will give them a more natural colour with some tonal variations.

The wall and sidewalk will receive a similar treatment.

Thanks guys. With everything blocked in, I sprayed the base with heavily thinned Light Grey to help tie all the elements together. This was followed by a thinned coat of Khaki.

Next up will be some washes and pigments.

Nice, so this step seals in and changesee the texture of the cork. (y)

Dark Grey wash added, a couple of shades of chalk pastels, a bit of dry brushing and a flat coat finishes the stone and concrete work.

Started paint work on the crewman tonight with the Oversuit, Tank Crew, more commonly known as a "Pixie Suit". They were issued in a wide range of colours, from tan to green to Denison camouflage. I went for a greenish-tan base with a mixture of Titanium White, Yellow Ochre and a touch of Raw Umber. Shadows were added with straight Raw Umber and highlights with Naples yellow.
