Souvenir Hunter at the Ministry of Propaganda

This is the 5th member of a collection (Soviet Woman that helped win the Great Patriotic War)... I have 2 snipers, 1 NKVD Political Officer and one of the "Night Witches" Bomber Pilot. These are what got me a 2nd place in the collections in Seattle.

This Soviet Tanker has been "Souvenir Hunting" and has made it to the Ministry Of Propaganda on her search for more items.

I was going to do that when I got home tonight... :blush:
I have some of the base before she jumped on to it too.
It was scratch built out of foam core board, the bricks
are scribed into it, painted, weathered and then I went
crazy with the propaganda posters, then threw some rubble
in for good measure. Since the Soviets, burned a lot of
stuff in the streets (Flags, books, papers etc...) :eek:hmy:
I thought this would be a fun little dio to throw together?
I took lots of photos during the build, but for some reason last
night TnT wouldn't let me load them into my photo gallery. :idonno
I'm chocking it up to operator error as usual. :hmmm :S :blush:
I was trying to do it in a hurry last night, so I hit on the
smaller photos... (I have been scolded properly and won't let
it happen again) Today anyways... :lol:
The rubble is actual brick (found it down on the beach) which was
softened up a bit by Mother nature. I put it in a plastic bag and
paper bag over the top and smashed it a bit with a Hammer :angry: :eek:hmy:
Then I put the smaller pieces through a "Pepper grinder" which mashed
it up (or down in this case) to scale. I liked the way it came out.
Then I slathered (yes it is a technical term) some "Modge Podge"
It is thicker (thinned white glue), and sprinkled it all over the
place. I wanted to cover the bricks and posters, but leave just enough
showing so you could tell what it is? :huh: :blink ;)
I think it came out the way I planned it :S

I do too... Master Box has a 32nd scale set of Aces coming out that has
a female fighter pilot too... Yee ha.
I guess that will be the one I enter next year in the contest in Port Townsend
WA. They have a best female military subject award... I won it the last 3 years
with some of the figures above... I get all kind of guff from the guys in our
club like "see it took a woman to get you an award" and such...
That's ok with me.

Glad you like them...
The Port Townsend Contest has a "Best Female Military " subject...
no one entered the 1st year, I was the 2nd, 3rd and 4th, Last
year one of our members from our group won, so we have a sweep
going from our group...
The sniper walking in the woods won year 2,
The sniper in the sniper blind won year 3,
The Political Commissar won year 4.
Keeps me out of trouble... LOL

I really like to think out of the box and get people thinking.
