Sherman 18
Master at Arms
I went and purchased the FC Model Trend conversion to make a Sherman Repotenciado. The base it I'll be using is the Tamiya Firefly kit.
Aiming for one of these cool camouflage looks
I started the kit by putting on more texture for the rolled armor plate and castings.
For the rolled armor look I use liquid cement by coating the surface with the glue and then dab the surface with a paint brush as it dries. Once that s done I let the parts sit over night and then sand them with 600 grit sand paper.
For the casting texture I usually use 3M blue spot putty thinned with liquid cement. I did that here on the upper hull parts. I tried something a little different by thinning Tamiya putty the same way and recoating the 3M putty with it. I really like using the putty as if I don't like the look I can always sand it off easily.
I started the process of changing the casting texture on the turret with the same putty mixtures. I glued on the lift rings as they are part of the castings on a Sherman. I also marked off where the add on armor will be on the turret. No sense in changing the texture under it.
