Alliance Model Works recently released several dial and placard sets for various subjects. I got half a dozen and let's look at their Sd.Kfz. 9 'Famo' set:
Note that, aside from the decals, a fret of photo-etched brass bezels are included. These do not have attachment tabs making clean up unnecessary. Also, much more than needed are provided so they can be used for other projects. The only thing I noted was the typo of 'bazels' for bezels and the lack of noting which decals are for each placard.
A close up of the decals with a bezel over it on the top left.
Aber offers two instrument panels, this is the late one and the numerals on the film are legible but painting the green and red zones will be difficult.
Here is the early panel. Sorry, but the fret moved. The dials do center up nicely.
Eduard offers a printed paper and only the early panel. The paper is in color but the details are not clear.
Part offers a film as well and only the late panel. As before, the film does reproduce the numbers legibly. Also note that this set also offers the bezel separately (part 10 above).
The original kit panel to have a base point.
While I await my Micro-Sol to be delivered, I really like this set from Alliance Model works as it gives you enough dials and placards for two kits but one must choose between the early (on which I placed the brass bezel) or late main dial.
Regards,
