One of my other hobbies - simracing

So one of my other hobbies that occupy a significant portion of my free time is sim-racing. Last night marked the end of the 2015 Pacific Majors season utilizing the iRacing simulator/game. For 2016 Pacific Majors season I'll be looking at a new "sponsor/s" for the cars. The races are broadcast, which is pretty cool. I'm hoping to attend all 12 events this time around. Would there be any interest in seeing a Modelers Alliance car for the 2016 season? Any objections from the powers that be here?

Some samples from this season's races I was able to attend in the 2old2play machines.

Sounds :coolio to me Chris, But my opinion doesn't count around here explain a bit more are you talking on 1:1 scale racer?

Okay now that looks really cool. By entering a MA car do you mean you require sponsorship funds or just the MA logo? I'll check the movies when I get home.

Oh no. No monies. It's only $25 (2015 cost) for me to reserve a seat for the entire season, plus whatever content I don't already have. I got that, as I'm planning on running regardless.

It was more if anyone had interest seeing MA outside the forum. And of course approval from the powers that be for the use of the MA name and/or logos. I try not to just throw "sponsors" on the car without buy in from those in charge...as some people don't necessarily like having their corner of the world advertised. ;)

Sorry. Didn't mean to mislead through my poor wording. :rotf

No, no problem, just clarifying in my mind. We'll chat about it as it sounds intriguing and I'm sure MP will weigh in. Of course you realize you would have to win every race right :rotf

James  :D

What a bunch of geeks! Man that's an amazing setup you got. I was on my way with a Flight Sim setup once, still got the Thurstmaster Cougar sticks but realized how much money I was spending..:rotf

I mean really, even got color commentary. That's cool, and dedication to a fun hobby. The graphics are amazing.

Those cars are tough! I think that first wreck was caused by the leader reaching for his Mountain Dew. :rotf

So what's the cost, just permission to use a logo? Which one would you want to use?

Something like this?

Yep, just permission to use a logo. B)

And that one would look dandy draped across a hood. :hmmm

I got a much higher resolution to use.

So I gotta ask, what would be the negative in this, some disgruntle rouge team you be come trolling us? :rotf

Hmm, the negative? Good question. I'm kinda slow, and will usually be relegated to the Amateur split?

I would need a considerable bribe to go a trolling. Not typically my style. :rotf

Good luck and post up a shot of the car when you have it out of the paint shop.

:good:

Will do. :salute

I'll be running 6 different cars over the course of the year. The first 2 out of the gate will be the Ford Fusion NASCAR for the Daytona 500 and a Sportscar of some variety once race management decides on available cars (perhaps a GT1 Aston Martin) for the 2.4HRS of Daytona (road course).

Cars later in the season will include a GT3 car (maybe Ford GT), the DW12 Indycar, a Super Late Model short track car, and a Ford Falcon V8 Supercar.

I'll just use this thread as things progress into the season and beyond.

Someone has to be able to build on of those cars. Maybe we can get someone to make decals. :hmmm

I was actually trying to think about how to go about doing that myself not all that long ago.

Unfortunately most of the kits are going to hard if not impossible to find. The mostly likely build would probably be the NASCAR. Sadly not many road race car kits are produced (aside from some DTM, JGTC, & older F1). I would LOVE to build a V8 Supercar or GT1 Aston Martin. :woohoo:
