OK so I threw rocks at the Pip Priller FW190 kit, didn't like the work that was looking at me on that one, not my scale anyways.

Got to make up for the false start so here's what I'm offering for my Air Contention of the Operation Overlord.

I have been sitting on this stuff for months, if not a year or more. Just saving up and waiting for a good time to strike. All the past builds I have tested one thing or another, especially when I talk about Natural Metal finishes, was leading up to this.

You've probably have stopped reading by now, you see the picture...

I have no clue yet what scheme I'm doing but it will be a NMF with invasion stripes. Suggestions? She's going to be closed up, gear down, "armed and cocked" as we use to call the alert birds.

I'm REALLY looking forward to doing one of my big builds!

Ideas? :hmmm

Here are some pictures. Hard to find good photos of P-51Ds with stripes. :idonno

This is the best one I have found. 352nd Fighter group? Also it is an early D.

I will enjoy watching you get this done. (y)

I know Jeff, so many great schemes to pick from hit's hard to make a call. Thanks for the images, always nice just to look at them.

That's ok Bob I've got one coming up in "Berlin 1945". The new choice looks great!

The Bench is cleared....studying instructions...
I got the big ed set for this but I see that a great deal of it will not be used. Armament, Engine details will not be done because it's going to be all buttoned up.

I can see right off that he bomb fuse vanes that both Dragon and Ed supply are not correct., think I'll try to make my own. More I think about things, I'll do fully armed with bombs and rockets. Even going to do a base with some support stuff sitting around.

Got everything planned except...scheme.

Pictures when I get something going.

Jerry Rutman had some great stuff for the Mustang... a little bird tells me we may see the stuff again under a different label as I was asked if it was worth acquiring. So, I will be waiting.

Regards,

I did the start picture in Feb??

The deck is pretty clear now. I'm down to three in progress and they only need details and bases. Thinking over profiles...did a google search for "P51 Mustang profiles" and found this site.

What interested me most was the blank slate view...how about no profile, a NMF coming off the assembly line? Too corny??

Like this.
