Modeling tools where you least expect them

So you're out wandering around the store waiting for your wife/husband etc etc and wander into the pet department. Take a look around and see what there is that will help with modeling. I happened to see some small water dishes made of stainless steel and having a rubber foot. First thing that came to mind was a dish for wetting decals. Then a dish for making washes or mixing mud. And a $1.95 I bought them. Very handy and have some heft so they dont knock over easy. Currently a great parts tray.

Escargot dishes are useful for mixing small amounts of washes or paints.

I picked one up for a couple of bucks from a dollar store.

:S Umm yes, decimal has been inserted. I didn't have my coffee when I wrote this. My story :D

Well I use those little ToGo Salsa, Hot Sauce, Jalapeno & onion containers and old prescription bottles that are expired to hold small parts , screws & extra bits ..... But I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that you can buy Escargot trays at the Dollar store ...... :rotf

My first rule when it comes to food is 'if it has a hard shell that you must break to be able to eat it then it´s not ment to be eaten'!
Here in belgium mossels and escargots are very popular but I stay away from it

Nice find James :good: I can see many uses for those

Another great tool for setting decals are plastic butter dishes. A must have for those longer decals. And when it comes time to put them on, get you a set of stamp tweezers.

I see it the exact opposite: if whatever it is is going to such lengths to protect what's inside, it must be good. It's the stuff that offers itself up for free you gotta watch out for. :D

Perfect example is a sea urchin. You want to see a thousand fish bum rush you on a reef, just turn over an urchin to expose the soft underbelly for them to eat. A thousand fish can't be wrong, right? B)
