This is my next model

I have never built a helo. My inspiration to build this comes watching season 2 of Lioness. My goodness, what a fantastic show! Any references and advice would be appreciated!

Lioness, I couldn't get into it without suspending belief. A beauty walking around in a country run by men and full of plain women sticks out, even if she doesn't call attention to herself. All agencies hired 'plain people' so they can blend in. They were all expendable but trained to the hilt.

Thank you! Season 2 is a bit different. My best friend, Ray, who WAS special opps, is my "how real was that?" guy says the firefight at the end is fairly legit. Some things he won't answer. When we watch a movie together I will ask, "Did you do that?" and all I get is silence. Suspend your belief and join the adrenaline rush! LOL

Ok, oddly enough, the longer I have looked at this helicopter the less it has looked like the one in the show. Here is a picture of the pilot with the "Apache" behind her. It looks nothing like this model. Is that an Apache?

The first pic looks to be a MH-60L with the standard 2 hardpoint External Stores Support System (ESSS).The second could be a MH-60M with the new Light Armament Support Structure (LASS) but without the air to air refuelling probe. There is also the Multi-station Light Amament Structure (MLASS) in use now with an additional hardpoint as in the picture below.

The kit has the shortened single hardpoint ESSS.

I found a Kittyhawk Model MH-60L that looks pretty good so I think I will go with that. The Academy model looks overly simple to me and I would like a more detailed model, which the Kittyhawk model seems to be. Thanks for the excellent info!

So, it is not an AH-64, which we have all seen with sharkmouth schemes but a Blackhawk. I collect references on models I can build with sharkmouth schemes...

I had already planned on putting a Sharkmouth on it specifically for you! I just need to find the decals...uhhh...WAIT....gasp!...oooooor... do I mask and paint it for reals?! Yes!, that is my mission and I accept it. A hand-painted (well...airbrush painted) sharkmouth Black Hawk. Final answer! I think I want the regular army green like it was in the show. I really did LOVE that show and the fact they called it an Apache does not remove it from #2 on my all time favorite TV shows list. (before you ask....Outlander is #1) I expect these helos are kept in pretty good shape like the jets? No over-weathering and what not? Now to order the kit. It is in my Hobbytyme cart and I am waiting on my finance manager to give the thumbs up on pulling the trigger.

If you are going to the trouble to mask and paint it, you should go big a la 17th AHC Hueys in Vietnam.
