Only because my hamfisted recklessness.

So the red one looks really good with it's black and brown pin wash. What would I do with the black one, there's got to be something.

As I do as well.

I'm just trying to find something more neutral to shoot against.

Black pin wash and gloss coat to seal it in.

I went out on a limb and tried a white oil wash for Black Magic.

I haven't sealed this yet, could pull it out. Too stark? for the BRG Green one I'm thinking black again.

I would try a medium brown/tan or a medium grey. The red one looks great, but I think just a hint on the black one will go further than the white.
Don't forget that a dark on the gold letters will be needed.

I tried brown on Black Magic, couldn't tell it was there.

Then a tan, something in the mid range that still shows up but subtly. You might still then use a darker color on the gold letters.

A medium grey would be worth a try I think.

I advise going easy on the weathering on polished, brand new, racing airplanes. The white is a fail for sure.

OK OK I changed it,
I ran brown wash over the white. Will get photos later.
Remember I didn't seal this yet so we're still good.
