With the bump I'm having with my IDF campaign project, I thought of just knocking this out instead for the campaign. Now after starting into it I changed my mind and will do a US Army in Korea 1960's version.

I took start photos on July 1st as i had not made up my mind on what I was going to do.

Revell turret compared to DML's one (gray)

Revell hull (green) compared to DML's hull

some of the sink marks on the lower hull

there is casting texture where there should not be any

I guess the tools were scaled for 1/48?

plan on using putty when building this kit, seems and sink marks

I'm going to try sanding out some the really really heavy casting texture and see what happens

That is all for now and maybe for some time as I just might revisit an old big project instead :idonno

Is it my imagination, or is the RoG kit just skinnier all the way round, turret & chassis ??

I'm not familiar with the kit, what's the age on the RoG?

The DML one is dead on as far as I know.

I'm a bit disappointed with the kit. One it just does not look right and two most of the detail they tried to do is not well done at all. I hate saying bad things about kits, but this one I would not recommend to anyone. Comparing it to DML is not the best thing to do as the Revell kit is half as much. What gets me is AMT did the M60A1 years ago and it was a good cheap kit (still a good kit). Italeri M47 is fantastic and how old is it? Not sure if Revell just tried to hard.

The lower hull is stamped 2014 I got mine early 2015.
