Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

I have this set as well James. Excellent profiles and info...love the art style. My only complaint is the sections given to a what if 1946 + alternative history. The second volume has some 20 pages dedicated to it.
I am just not interested in more than 2 pages of this. I must not be alone as his latest volume backed this off and he acknowledged that he may have given the subject to many pages. I would rather he increased the Tiger cammo section.
I concur. The next volume looks interesting with the Frei Korps markings, but I am not sure I want to pay the price. I am happy with the 5 books I have though.

Told ya I got WW1 aircraft on my mind. Some bling for the SE.5 and Sopwith Triplane. Lot of folks don't realize that the Sopwith Triplane was in service before the Fokker Dr.1. Those Fokkers avoided the Tripes whenever a mashup started.

The Fokker DR.1 was developed because of the Sopwith Triplane. As to the seat belts, I have found that the HGW WW2 belts are quite a bit oversized and won't use them anymore. Yeah the "cloth" and PE bit is a great idea, but they messed up on the sizing.

Boxart Ho 229 BOX 2 Ho229A+Ho229B+1/16Ho229 Pilot-Limited 32001W Takom

I pulled the trigger on this today.
I have been wondering how the Takom Hortens compare to the ZM kit.

I went to Andy's yesterday and took a look around. I didn't know that Das Werk had put out a 1/16th Pak 40 kit. That is what I was needing for my 1/16th Sdkfz 251/1. I also ordered the 1/16th scale Sdkfz 251/22 with the mounted Pak 40. Hopefully Memphis mail won't F this one up.

There is also a 1/16th Sdkfz 250 that is only $80. Might order it in a month, we shall see.

2 for me today
1st one is pretty straight forward and one that you dont often see built

2nd is a nightmare in a box :) MFH Brough Superior 1/9
I bought this in an online auction where it was pictured very neatly with no assembled parts on view. On picking it up i was bit worried that i might have wasted my cash...
the old adedge runs true here , dont buy anything without seeing it :)

as you can see one wheel has been assembled and the engine is sort of in the frame.
My hope is as this is all metal a good soak in acetone will remove the paint and CA glue and i will also find all the bits in the box.....yea i know, ever the optimist :)

I do have a new unboxed copy of this kit and the plan is if i can build this "mess in a box" i can then sell on the good copy i have

My 1/16th scale armor came in. The box with the SdKfz251/22 is huge with 38 sprues in it, and a number of optional parts, including the track links. The Pak 40 also has some options though it mainly looks to be 3 different types of wheels.

@Tim A. I think that Takom is doing the molds for Das Werk on these kits as they are made in the red flag state, but are engineered in Germany.

Way super detailed as should be expected on 1/16th scale.

I needed a relpacement and the canvas one had too much cyanoacrylate glue on it. This can also be used while grilling and it was free after using my Amazon Rewards:

From Jo-Anne's Fabric shops which are closing, these were 60% off but now even cheaper if you can find them! I paid $13.99 but they are now $10.49USD for the 18x24:

I paid $23.99 for the 34 x 36 inch mat which is now $19.49USD:

This was 70% off and seems to be the same stuff for blackening tracks... Only $3USD and now only $2USD!

Not really new... Found it under my drafting desk in its own case. a Rotring drafting board!

Saw a video on YouTube by Barbatos Rex and pulled the trigger...

Well, received it and not exactly the one in the video as this one, at $73USD, is only 5.3 CMM (Cubic Meters per Minute) while the one in the video was 9 CMM and this one only has two LED strips with two bulbs each while the one in the video has three LED strips (no idea how many bulbs in each). The one in the video is $131USD so not really complaining.

It replaces this ancient Gunze Sangyo Industries (GSI makers of Mr. Hobby products/paints) which appears to have been made from vacuum-formed packaging material, a range hood vent motor and some cat scratching board!:sawall

I have 2 of these Saul and they are great! They can be joined together which is what I did so as I could spray bigger models (like U-Boats).
