An Excellent Haul John! You will have to let us know what you think of the H&K B-17 kit.

My present (to myself) arrived yesterday at work. The box was left sealed until this morning. I was rather surprised at the size of the box. It is filled with some rather large parts. Surprisingly I think they replaced a couple of sprues with clear plastic. On the outside it mentions that the see thru for the LM isn't in the kit. However, in the box, that part is clear. I will have to ponder what I want to do and hunt around for the aftermarket upgrade. Missed out on one last week.

Will do, I plan on doing one soon, just waiting for some masks from Eduard to be released. Just from looking around the box it looks to be an excellent kit and nice detail

I really need to pick me up that rocket as I love the Apollo program. It sure looks nice.

It was kind of the last of the 1/72 spacecraft I needed for the set (The Titan II/Gemini are not released yet) This kit was just re-released this last week. I got mine from Cult-TV-Man as a pre-order deal. Sprue Bros has it listed at $136 but they are out of stock at the moment. I suspect that FreeTime might have it, but they are also getting ready to move to a new location (again).

It was hitting $400 to $500 mark on ebay, but those prices have come back down to the retail prices again. I wouldn't dwaddle about picking it up this time as it might be a long while before it gets a 3rd release.

Wow John, did you pick that out and send the family the bill? Nice haul.

I got a Air Fryer..That's cool with me, ready to try a beer battered fish and chips via Air Fry.

I got a Air Fryer last year and love it, does an excellent job. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.

I guess its nice to have a large family as one of the Royal Class P-51 came from my wife, the other and AMK stuff from the inlaws. My parents got me the one B-17 and Tempest Royal Class kits. Sister got me the Revell P-51 kit and I got the rest with some of my Christmas Bonus.

I hope they will have that 1/72 Rocket around my birthday as i plane on asking for it then.

Nice scores Everyone!

Paul, that Saturn is actually a re-release, which is probably why you have the clear part in it. I know as I built that same Apollo 11 kit a few years back. I have the exact same box, except for the "50th anniversary" badge added to it. It is a big one! I painted all but a section of the clear part so that, from one angle, it looks solid; from another, you can catch a glimpse of the LEM inside.

Paul, here's mine in front of the bathroom door covered by a sheet. Note the doorknob for size reference:

And another shot of the "open" clear section showing the LEM:

I look forward to seeing your Saturn done Paul! Just a word of advanced notice: This bird took four spray cans of Wal-Mart 96-cent cans of white paint and two bottles of Aqua Clear to cover!

I'm also trying to build as many of the Real Space rockets I can in 1/72 scale.

My wife has been looking at an air fryer. Maybe I should tell her how you guys like yours....

Bruce, that looks great; I hope someday someone shrinks it to my scale.

Thanks Mark! I have the Revell 1/72 shuttle with boosters as well as the 1/72 Mercury/Redstone and a 1/72 Mercury/Atlas. As I stated I don't think anyone has done the Gemini/Titan II yet in 1/72. It should be in the works though as it was just as important as the others. It would also b neat if someone did an Apollo/Soyuz in 1/72.

Excellent haul there James!

You're welcome Paul. I also completed the Saturn V and Space Shuttle with boosters; you saw that in Chattanooga. I am also working on the Atlas and Redstone. I'm hoping a Gemini/Titan II comes soon!

James, your family sure loves you!

I hope you are able to get the parts for the Samovar off the tree without breaking them. It's a neat kit and the only styrene Samovar that I'm aware of. I first saw one of those in the Russian TV series "THE DAWNS HERE ARE QUIET". That was a great series with lots of diorama ideas that can be done with various ICM kits besides the Soviet Service Women one. I have the ICM Soviet Tank Crew at rest too to use in a scene similar to one in WHITE TIGER.

Good luck with your Samovar.

Cheers
