Nice! Wash it, dry it, Dr. Mikes glue will be good and your favorite primer, I'd use Tamyia.

Yes, wash it well! I agree with the primer!

I've had good results with BSI Bob Smith Industries gap filling superglue (purple label).

I agree on the glue and the primer (although I have been trying quite a few which are all good!)

I stopped at Freetime Hobbies in Blue Ridge Georgia this afternoon.

I found a few kits I lacked the ability to continue Life without!
The new Airfix 1/72 B-25B/C Mitchell wasn't on hand, nor was the Revell new tool of their 1/72 PT-109 model.
Soon my Brothers! Very soon!

BTW The Retail hobby shop is only open 1 day a month since Brandon, his dad Russ and the Freetime crew are kept plenty busy with on-line orders. When Russ found out how far I came to visit, he let me come on in to shop after all.

Thanks to the friendly crew at Freetime! To Jay especially, for taking good care of my Model Mania this day!

Thanks for the replies Guys :D so far I've got the primer covered then at least. I've had a decent run with Bob Smith glue as well.

I'll throw in another plug for Freetime Hobbies as well, just received an order for AK's new line of Real Colors paint from them as no in Canada seems to carry them just yet

So for anyone in Canada who may be interested in buying some they will ship from the U.S. but at a cost, $12.50 Canuk cash in duty for a $55 US order. I am a bit disappointed though as I was really looking forward to getting my 4BO green only to find when I'd opened the box I had inadvertently ordered Russian Grey Green

I have received a few items over the last couple of weeks. First was a long awaited shipment from the Ukraine for some aftermarket for some Trumpeter Russian kits. Go figure. :idonno

There was some other stuff I obtained at the Tulsa model show last weekend as well.

My dad made the desk a number of years ago and when he passed away my mom kept and used it for a while. I was finally able to bring it back and am setting it up for my new build bench. Added the long power strip and the TV and metal cabinet I already had. Shuffling and weeding out in the process. Should be nice to build on 80 inches long and 32 inches deep. Just will have to be careful so as to not damage the surface.

Art stores often carry vinyl drafting board cover in sheets or rolls. Its like a cutting mat but without the grid on it and about the same thickness.

Cheers,
Rich

Thanks Mark!

Bob-

I've not built any of the WWI kits yet, but I did build their AMX-13 and am just putting the finishing touches on their big G6 Rhino kit. Takom and Meng are quickly becoming two of my favorite kit manufacturers.

To make this model related this is where my modelling budget has gone.

Oil Pressure!
When I got to the airport last week for my trip to Gary IN  my oil pressure dropped to nothing and engine started rattlin'. I got back and cranked up, pressure came up a bit, guess it was moving sludge around enough. I got it to my mechanic over the weekend because you just can't work on these trucks anymore without special tools.

Yes, new oil pump, new sump, new pickup tube, new timing chain and gears (since he had to pull the timing cover off to replace the pump)

This is what he found.

Got it all cleaned out, runnin' like a top, motor whisperin' again. Good for another 200k miles. :D

Geez Bob! It helps to be able to do that stuff yourself. Had to replace the oil pan on my car a little while back as I found a center median the hard way in the rain and dark. Luckily it only dented it bad but then had to do a wheel alignment too.
Next on the agenda will be some motor mounts.

Less expensive when I do it, but still dips the budget a bit.

Looking at some AM bumper covers to replace the front one which is cracked slightly. Nothing like a 1:1 scale custom build and paint. (just have not figured what look I want to try for yet)
