Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

Well, since Jeff hasn't joined in (or maybe hasn't seen this), we'll have to assume it was just "thinking out loud". :idonno

My buddy James asked me to ride shotgun today to Edmonton and we ended up in one of the hobby shops. So availed myself of a couple of SPGs and some glue, paint, plastic, airbrush cleaner, wheels for my Smirch and some equipment for the M1083 that is coming. I'll also post the AML-60 and M47E I mentioned earlier.

Cool stuff James! I've seen that French Howitzer here and there...was curious if the interior was really well detailed or not-- I'll be watching!

Got this one from Squadron after a nice sale and a $10 off Father's Day coupon...ready for the Africa GB....

I think the interior is pretty basic. Tony would be a better person to ask as he built the kit and would be more subjective. You'll like the G-6. I really should pull mine out and finish it.

I was told about a second hand model place here in Alberta and got these at a great price. Opened but bags sealed. Events of the day have dampened my enthusiasm though.

And the last of my models for a long time. Need to find my mojo or sell everything and just forget about the hobby. One of the boxes was crushed byt luckily no damage that I can see to the kit. The Mail can be nasty.

James,

Some really cool stuff!

Do you have any photos of your entire stash? I'd love to see it! It has to be really impressive!

It has gotten out of control Bob. I'll try and capture it .

And after the day yesterday we went and checked the Humane Society today and learned a new truth about cats. They are related to Hydras. Lose one cat and 2 more will takes its place. Meet Abbot and Costello Knaus. 4 year old brothers. So far George is just miffed but accepting of the new additions.

Thats the names they were given and we wont change them. I wanted a couple of 10 week olds that loved me or even the 1 year old Bengal who climbed up and draped himself around my shoulders. But Chris fell for these 2. Funny thing is everyone said Costello was shy and he ran from Chris across the room. When I stepped in he came over to me and rubbed and then he jumped up on a cat tower to be eye level and wouldn't let me go.

James, happy for the new feline acquisitions. Perhaps I can make believe I never read about you getting rid of the stash... ;)

Way to go James!

I'm a dog guy, but whenever one passes, I immediately replace them. It really helps ease the pain of the loss.

Good for you! And good for Abbott and Costello, I'm sure they will love their new home!

Thanks Bob, Saul. I would dearly love a dog also, but realistically we don't have the room and not sure we could care for it as we should. I find the same. It hurts less and gives you something to dwell on other than the loss.Decided to go today when some parcels arrived and I didnt have my buddy demanding to check the kits and confiscating the boxes. He loved trying them all out. Funny thing, he also demanded to check my builds. I show Chris who could care less and he was right there pulling my hand down and checking the whole thing. Didnt touch it though. I hope Abbot and Costello might take over. I even got some modeling in tonight.
Saul, the stash will go if I cant figure out how to overcome my issues. I have a Ballila that isgoing up on the block soon, Any of those have a sharkmouth?

Give it some time James. You just had a tramatic loss and things have not settled yet. The thing that I suggest is don't do anything big or to a great extent for a while (say a couple of months) If there are kits you already were thinking of getting rid of then do it a few at a time.

When I got divorced back in 1990 all my stash went to storage. I knew better than to get rid of it all. Over time I have weeded out a fair bit and added to it. Need to do a big weed out now as I have deemed that a bunch are never to be built. Just hate dealing with that.

Give your new critter kids some time to settle in and they might surprise you a lot. It just takes time my friend.

James, I'm glad to see you adopt two more cats. They are beautiful! I know that when my older cat goers, I'll need to get another cat almost immediately because Sylvester has never been in this house without another cat. Misty has always been there. He will need a new companion right away.

Let them get settled in and one or both of them might just insist on checking out your work to make sure it is done right. Meanwhile, take your time to grieve and adjust. You got this. We will all be here for you as you do.

None that I know of...

A distributor who hasn't heard from me in a long time sent me this to review, sadly not my interest:

I did get this from the same eBay seller as the previous Horch at the same great price ($25 PPD) so I can use the bumper from this kit to scratch the one missing from the other kit:
