My niece called me from my building parking lot. She told me to come down as she had something for me. Yippee!

That something turned out be Avro CF-105 Pilot's Operating Instructions and RCAF Testing/Basing Plans.

OOH BOY what a nice end to another wise bad day of news.

Cheers from Peter

How sweet is this,
went to the LHS today to see if they had a Pe set, which they didn't, while I was looking Marcia spotted this under a pile of kits in a basket - 50% off.

Kit was $60 AU

I know there is that new Zoukei-Mura But honestly to me it looks way to over engineered for my skills. So this will do nicely

Every time I see an image of one of th9ose Dewotine planes i think that the forward downward visibility must have been terrible because of how far back the cockpit was.

A lot of model builder gained their skills by improving on basic kits. now it seems that the kits are getting to be overly complicated for anyone but very advanced builders.

Rather than scratch their own accessories they now buy aftermarket. Remember the days when we made ration boxes from brown paper bag paper and made tarps and bedrols from tissue?

BTW, is Hobbycraft still around or ar the kaput?

Cheers from Peter

I'm not sure if Hobbycraft is still around or not. I still see some of their stuff in online stores. But I know their stuff is reboxed by Academy and Italeri. Most of their kits aren't to bad really. I've tried the tissue tarp once and really liked it. Also done some scratchbuilding as well. But I'm lazy so just end up building straight from the box or using Eduard zoom stuff :rotf

Hobby Craft, Otaki, and all the other folks that build simpler kits are my heroes! :drinks I have several wonderful kits and am intimidated by them... Something with 500 parts scares the dickens out of me....

Well, today was my birthday and this arrived from Gary yesterday just in time. :D
The wingspan on this thing is incredible.

I also picked this up at an LHS a little while ago. Looks like another great kit from the new Airfix. (y)

They both do!

I just ordered a Blenheim in 48!

Where did you find a Blenheim in 1/48?

Old Classic Airframes kit?

Yeah, Hannants has a load of Mk.1's right now. Says they're "exclusive to Hannants" but they also have another Blenheim kit and a CR. 32 due for future release. I am wondering if they are using CA molds for a special production or if CA is back to some extent.

Latest Acquisitions

Ya gotta wonder where all these CA kits come from... Sprue Bros. Always has some....

One of my students wrote about the tank as an innovation that seriously changed things... I asked him about male v. Female tanks... He laughed. I told him if he didn't believe me to look it up!

He was teased the rest of the day... "Don't argue with Mr. Millisor about military stuff..."
