Messing around with a brown wash. I hope to scrub the excess off the road wheels.

The wash works best on a glossy surface. Put it on, let it dry a couple hours, then rub off the excess with a cotton bud moistened with with spirit or Humbrol thinner. The gloss surface won't suck up the wash like a flat will and it's easier to erase the tide marks. I buy the pointed swabs from CVS, they are harder cotton than Q Tips and don't shed as badly.

Tamiya makes some too, but the are more expensive and harder to find. Try it out, takes a little practice and some patience. :good:

Thanks Mike. I use semi gloss as I find it hard to get rid of a full gloss after I apply the matte coat.

Unsure if I should add more to the wash or not. :idonno I am not sure why the white dots are on this. I used the same flat coat spraying session I used on my StuG.

No idea about the white dots without seeing in person. Wash looks good, could be deeper but that's a personal take. :popcorn

Looks good so far. What kind of flat coat did you use? I recently had some Vallejo flat coat spit out white spots like that on a build. It seemed like I didn't stir it quite enough.

Spitting, that's a good point, was there any chance of build up on the needle spitting when airbrushing? I ran into that recently spraying something, paint was drying before it left the needle tip.

That may have been the problem. The airbrush I use is an older Badger. That may be part of the problem as well. There was no problem when I sprayed the flat coat on my StuG. I sprayed that on first, then this one.
