Thanks, Terry! Here's some progress on my little zaichik, almost ready for the bed springs and some paint.

I plan to add some more cast texture and enhance the welds, after all the handling is done, then I'll add the "armor" . The race to the Reichstag is on!

OK, the pix are in the Gallery, but don't show here. HELP!!!!

hope these were the images you wanted. Bob

I'm having the same trouble. Glad it's not just me. I thought I was going nuts.

Base paint and recognition stripes on today, still a long way to go!

I primed and shot the bed springs with Model Master Rust, planning to use oils and pigments to crustify them. Didn't get as much done as I wanted today, but it's coming along.

Dude, that thing is so dusty, you should clean it up before putting any more paint on it. Oh Wait, you want it like that!!!
Outstanding!

Let me tell you Mike; it is looking really good! :ro:

What color did you paint the tracks? Black or some secret formula of yours?

Ruben

Bob, I am going for the "used" look, so I appreciate your comment.

Chris, thank you! Every build is a learning experience for me.

Ruben, thanks! Watching your builds (among others), I think I've finally found the method to painting after assembly. The tracks and lower hull were painted with cheap flat black spray paint, mostly as a primer, but to cover up they grey. I then used Model Master Track Brown, mixed with lacquer thinner to spray the tracks. I was sort of careful around the road wheels, but figured touch ups would be in order. I hit the road wheels with the upper hull base color to make them green again, but I'm liking the fade to black method.

I am going on a field trip with my wife today, so no progress, but have the weekend off and plan to knock some more out. Thank you to all , please check back!

OK, I finally made some progress and I'm not sure I like it. The Voyager Model Anti-Panzerfaust Shields went together well, I had one mishap with the rear deck piece. The directions are not very clear as to the direction and order of the folds and the scribes are perforated, so of course, I broke it! I made the replacement frame from Evergreen angle. After priming all the pieces, I mixed up some Abteilung oils, Light Rust, Dark Rust and Wash Brown to color the field installed armor. These took several days to dry, hence my distraction.

I feel the size of some of the panels should be smaller, the clearance around the turret doesn't work as well as I'd hoped. I may remove and rework some of it and of course, I have miles to go with touch up and weathering!

The reference pictures I've dug up show some battle damage to the mesh, so when I am satisfied with all the fits and placement, I'll see about dinging them up. I'm thinking I'll leave the hatches closed, thoughts, suggestions?? Thanks for watching!

Well I guess if you got hit with a shaped charge I think that would leave a mark.

Battle Damage Man Battle Damage!!

Terry

MIKE,

This has come along nicely !! The spaced Armor looks Really Nice !! If it were Me , I would give a little wear-n-tear to the spaced armor, maybe dent the "springs"some. I would tone down the rust just a bit. It looks a little to bright to Me. maybe dry brush it with some Vallejo German Camo Black-Brown ? That color really seems to bring th life into worn steel ! Maybe hit with some ModelMakerz- Rubble Dust pigments to give it that" Lived in the City" feel.

* Don't forget to hit the spots where you attached the Spaced Armor with some sort of Flat acrylic or Dulcote - To take that shine away from the C.A. Glue B)

I like the Tones on the T-34 !! (y) It really Pops !

ERIK

Thanks Terry, man that was fast!

Erik, whoa big fella! I just got started! I'm still trying to decide if I like it yet, but planning to head in that direction. My work schedule is off my regular hours for the 2 weeks, so I haven't got as far as I would like.

Thank you, Laura! The oils are still sort of soft, so I thought I'd at least mock up the placements before trying to add more tones. It seemed like every time I touched them, more came off! At least this way, I don't have to touch them!

Thanks again to all, your suggestions are really helpful!!
