IDF Pereh ATGM tank destroyer

OK so the highly esteemed Greg Kimsey printed a 3D Pereh tank for me! This is one of three obscure Israeli armored vehicle designs I am very much looking forward to building. I need to do some fender work and locate/drill some wheel holes, but overall it’s looking good!

It’s worth noting that the fender breakage is not the fault of the printer, but printed fenders are super-thin, hence their breakage.

Also, here’s a link to Wikipedia to give an idea of what this odd thing was when in use:

And no kidding on the fenders being extremely thin. They had printed perfectly and while putting them in the box for shipping I accidently bumped the edge of the box and broke the unbroken one!GRRRRR! I did glue it back together and will gladly print another but wanted to give it a shot to see if it would hold so as not to delay any longer in shipping.

Holy crap! I just noticed the whole fender broke off! It was just a chip on the corner when it left me. Dagnabbit! I will see if I can thicken that area and reprint. The whole fender broken will NOT do at all.

Greg, IF you see-code to reprint, you can put it is the box with the L-33. If you don’t then I’ll figure it out

Bob, I’m gonna try those clear tracks, but may get a set of invidial links. We’ll see

I still have it and can add thickness to the fenders to strengthen. The Howitzer is SO much better sculpted. I don't forsee any problems with that one. The Pereh has been a nightmare to print.

OK so when I took a look at this…it’s not nearly as bad as you might think. Here’s what I did to fix:
So the kit parts are a bit brittle. But that’s also a blessing because they break along a distinct fracture line

Yeah this is something I have been picking up from various places, is that the resins out there all have different properties. I guess the trick is to do diligence to find one that isn't brittle like untempered glass.

This is the "tough" ABS like resin which is supposed to be hard to break, but I think the extreme thinness of the parts make that property moot. I may be able to add what is called "Tenacious" resin to the ABS which will make it somewhat more flexible and less likely to break. I need to experiment to see what ratio of ABS to Tenacious works best.
