I will not buy another model kit for one year.

ausf

Master at Arms
At the minimum.

With the possible exception of the Italeri Schnellboat re-release so I don't 'miss the boat' again, literally. But that is the absolute only compromise.

I Will Not Buy another styrene model kit until March 2017 at the earliest.

I have a ridiculous stack of unfinished stuff and recently bought two 1/72 Revell U-boats for RC, then a crew for the Vospers, rounding out the order with a 1/128 Flying Sub. But that only wet my whistle for the 1/32 Flying Sub, which I ordered a few days after.

Then Saturday night, I caught The Right Stuff on TV and spent at least an hour during the movie searching reviews online about the Revell and Tamiya Bell X-1, ultimately ordering the Tamiya from Japan for $15.

I gotta stop. :S

I hear you and commisserate. I was not going to buy another kit until next year except for the Meng Shilka. Well got an email from WNW saying a price increase and then became able to buy some more so stocked up. Then the Meng Shikas were sitting beside a Meng Smirch. Then the Patriot stared at me. And then Tommies War was stopping selling trucks. Finally got a good (relatively) deal on a W.29 and an Albatros D.V. Well like you and Paul it has to stop so I also will attempt not to buy anything for a year. Maybe a mutual support group of model buyers annonymous? We can assist each other in our goal to stop buying and start building :D

I think the first step to stopping would be to take the excess and distribute it amongst the other board members. ya know...to be fair...........................

Am with you there iambrb! I can say off the top of my head that there are way too many 1/48 Dragon Ju88 kits in my stash. Most of the various versions. I also have a number of 1/350 scale ship kits that I am no longer interested in. There are a number of other kits that will be let go of in the near future as well. The easy way would be to haul them to my local hobby shop for a wholesale price, but if anyone is really interested I will post a list once Spring Cleaning season begins.

Definitely post a list whenever you get around to it. You never know...one man's trash may be another man's treasure. ;)

Sounds like a plan.

Me too,except for Meng Shilka,Tamiya AMX-13,Tamiya SU-76.I think that's it. :D

Well this is easy for me to do. I haven't received more than a hundred bucks each from three jobs since May last year. I've got nothing to spend; although I did get a little Birthday money that I used to order four kits from Hobbylink Japan. That will probably be it for another year or so for me.

Been there too Mark. Makes me appreciate where I am at now, and reminders never hurt. Things can change in an instant so let's not forget.

I told my wife I was only buying one kit this year, either Panda's or AFV's Huskey. Then the WnW thing happened and then I was at my new favorite hobby shop (that happens to be about 1500 miles from my home!) and the Turtle jumped in my arms and wouldn't let go...

I'm with you on the support group... I'm doing my best, but its just sooo hard to not!

Get married, that will stop it. Or if you are married, tell SWMBO that you blew your whole paycheck on models, then you'll stop :pp

Yup sure slowed me down for sure. Something about having 300 kits in the stash sure makes my wife mad at me :idonno :rotf :rotf

We have a facebook Buy sell site here in SA and I have litterally made a list of kits I really wanted. List is now full I just need to start building Dammit :woohoo:

.....I hear you James!
I finally took the plunge and bought a Felixstowe (Late) because of the announced price rise, but because they base their prices on $US it ended up being $385 AU. I vowed to not by anymore kits but Dragon announced a 1/35 AT-AT so there goes that promise!

Ian.

Great Idea! I will start..

Hi, my name is Alex and I am a plasticaholic. I haven't bought a model since... 2 days.

Since I have joined this forum I cannot stop looking into Ebay, Dersockelshop.de, Hannants, aviationmegastore and so on. This is almost a compulsion now.

And we want to buy a house... I really must stop.

Cheers

Alex

P.S: Plasticaholic sounds way better, therefore changed here!

Me next My name is Gerry I haven't bought anything this week ... but I have 4 pages on my eBay watch list. I'm on Social Security & my SWMBO has a good paying job, We're in debt up to our eyeballs, so my SS check would help us out if I didn't owe so much to the company store. I found this modeling forum that fuels my needs, then there's Scale Fest and now Eagle Quest that I enjoy going to. I want a trophy so bad that I model many kits, so many there's not enough room in my bunker for them, I have kits & stuff for kits in totes under my work bench, (I'm also a Model Railroader) so that is also my Railroad layout. I would build that and get rid of the stuff in the totes, if my Kits & tools weren't in the way.

My Honey-Do list is getting bigger, so my modeling budget is smaller because our Double-wide Manufactured Home is falling to piece, it is raining here all the time, so I can't fix it on my days off. So I sit at the bench and dream of new things to make or build, and my Work in progress, list gets bigger.

Help Me !!! Out of control in Texas !!!
