How are AMTECH kits?

Also, all the AMTech kits are based on AMT kits which started off as a venture of AMT with ESCI of Italy. this is why the ESCI Henschel Hs-126 appears in their catalog.

Actually, it was AMT & ERTL... ESCI did have a relationship with ERTL which explains the Henschel HS-126 kit.

How are the fittings on the P-40 gene? I have never seen one of these...used to love AMT kits as a kid- built a starfleet! lol

Interested in the extra sharkmouth?

Do you really need to ask? :D What do you want for them? I am going to post my P-40 Lot and will offer the leftover decals if you want them. By the way, you are the one who beat me to the last lot of 2 P-40E & 1 P-40F/L from eBay seller Speedway Cablewrap. Good going!

Geter,
Overall it ain't too bad. Butt then again, having never ever built an a/c before, I have no clue what I'm doing.

According to this these old AMT releases of an unused ERTL kit are very nice but sparse- no engine and some other details, but that seems fair considering how they praise the kit for its accuracy and ease of build. Plus you get a vac formed canopy and FOUR sets of decals! Is that true? This sounds like a nice little kit.

NONE of the kits I owned ever had these in the box. The review doesn't mention it either. In the past, I have built the AMT, AMTech, Promodeler (Monogram at the time), and Hasegawa P-40E kits. In my stash, I only have the 2 AMTech kits I just bought to keep the 2 Hasegawa kits company. Other than the decals, there is nothing to praise the Monogram kit.

Looked like there were different versions of the Amtech release, I read a review last night where the canopy was vac formed and came packed in some form of putty. But then after a second reading I realized I misread the review, the vac form canopy was AM from Squadron! My bad. The Amtech kit still looks nice for a modifier.

Here is the review that I misread...

Its all good. CR

That is a nice review, I remember reading it quite some time ago! Thanks for the link.
