Re: The 10 ton bomb

Thanks James!!

This is more like the U-Boat Pen and aqueduct buster Terry-- although I wish I had the Dambuster version as well...and maybe a Tallboy version too!! Who am I kidding-- this thing is HUGE and I have no idea where I'll put it!

Re: The 10 ton bomb

Well if you want to do something smaller then you could do a Mosquito Mk IV ship buster. It had the Dam buster trapeze setup with a ball instead of a barrel. Developed by Wallace the ball spun up and they bounced it over the torpedo nets where it hit the ship and spun underneath before exploding which broke her back.

Re: The 10 ton bomb

I'd forgotten that these things went supersonic in the air after being dropped. Must have been something to feel one of the earthquakes from these things being dropped. I am hoping that Walk Around book that is coming out on the Kanc comes out soon...

Re: The 10 ton bomb

Sorry James ...we cross posted!

Yeah I would like to get around to trying my hand at a Cookie Mossie as well as the Highball version you mention...but I have none in the stash. I am perfectly happy to build this baby...plenty of ceiling space to hang it from ;). Hey!! Maybe I ought to pick up that 1/24 Mossie that Airfix has out!

Ooooo...that next to the last link you posted is a gold mine James...between that and the awesome interior PE set, I'll be pretty busy detailing...

Re: The 10 ton bomb

We have my sister-in-law here for the day to celebrate the holidays before she heads back to LA so nothing yet :(

Hopefully when everyone is in bed...

Re: The 10 ton bomb

Well...started folding some PE last night after a day of feeling like crud and then realized before I could add any of it, I had to spray the Lanc's interior walls so I could continue...nothing worthy of pics really yet...but this Eduard PE is a treat with my new bending tool!

Re: The 10 ton bomb

Every one is bending PE. I really see the advantage of building buttoned up...Shoot, I may have time for a second.

Get some pictures up Jeeves..

Re: The 10 ton bomb

OK...stayed up late to work on this and get some pics for you kids! First up-- for Saul-- is a few pics of my new Fender Bender (Thanks Ken!)

Now let's see how to work this thing... lucky for me since I don't have any fender sized pieces, the great men at Ausfwerks have a side with smaller fingers for the small stuff-- I still had to use a razor blade and steel rule here and there-- but mainly due to poor planning on my part. So-- here is the case for the radar set I believe...before-
1-3-11_004.jpg

And after bending...this makes me actually like PE!!

And where I am at so far in the fuselage...slow and steady wins the race...I tend to rush things, so I am trying to do just a bit here and there...

Will need to repaint here and there, but I figured I'd wait until everything was in so I could touch up and wash all at once!

Re: The 10 ton bomb

Man... I hope the quiet is a good thing ;)

Funny how a pic brings out things to notice-- like that gargantuan ejector pin markings...I am loking to see which of them get covered up with PE and then I'll try fixing them up a bit...

Re: The 10 ton bomb

Hey, I thought those fender bender things were out of production. How long you had that thing?
