Got this one in from MRC. .it's based on a 2020 Trumpeter kit. For a look inside, head here:

I'm thoroughly enjoying this kit. Fit is pretty near perfect so far with the
D-shaped pegs and holes keyed to fit (except for some reason for the two road wheels connecting together). Here is where I am with the lower hull tub:

Tracks are a dream to work with...after clean up, one just has to glue on the guide horns and then pin them together...here's a run of 10...just need to do this 17 more times or so...

I have wondered about these. I have the new Das Werk Stug III G and Das Werk Panzer III J kits. You just answered my question about where these came from.

To your question about the styrene tires, I would think they are much better than a vinyl version. The styrene will paint up just like the rest of the model, vinyl tires can be tricky to paint and have been know to "dissolve" over time. Having the tires molded individually is kinda cool because it give you the option of leaving some off, especially if you're modeling a knocked out version. Looking forward to seeing it built.

Paul- the Das Werk ones are completely new tool theirs...but I have to say this kit is a real dream so far! I have one run of tracks done- just putting on some gamer soundtracks and I am on my way. I have not built Trumpeter kits before, but if this is how they are, I am all in.

Mike-- You are absolutely correct. I was worried they wouldn't take to my "bag o' dirt" treatment but as you can see by the photos, it worked a treat. I just have to do the same to the hubs as I added them afterwards.

I have been absolute shite about updating this...but I am nearly done so I will post the pics I took along the way.

Kit doesn't come with figures, so I grabbed a figure from Jeff Shiu and a stowage set from my friend Steve at Value Gear...still some sanding to do, then prime and paint...

Not at all ...fit was great and the parts were keyed so that alignment was a breeze. Tracks were a true joy to build which I don't say often...

I have the new Das Werk tanks in 1/16th and am looking forward to building on them once I get some old projects out of the way.
