G scale locomotive.

I managed to shorten the tender 2 inches, about 4 scale ft. I haven't glued up the seam yet but, I'm pretty happy with the cut since I did it by hand with the jewelers saw. Some putty and sanding and it should disappear.

The cab needed to be shorter for the smaller loco it is now so, I intended on building one. I decided it would be more fun to chop, cut and rebuild the original instead. The surgery was successful and should heal nicely with some putty and sanding. First pic is how it was.

Spent the day making a workable drawbar. The tender and loco can be hooked up now. I also had to come up with a way to mount the cab. Not easy since it has to be straight, secure and easily removed...Success! There's plenty of room in there for some cab detail.
I took it for a test run using a 9v battery for juice. Runs smooth. No issues.

Today's work. I removed the pilot deck I had done years ago because the styrene wasn't thick enough and the rivet pattern was crooked.
The new pilot deck in . I used brads for the rivets this time.
