Free Comic Book day!

For those of you who have kids, or who are big kids like me...today's the first Saturday in May which is when most comic book shops offer free comic books to those who come in...they are usually special edition ones but I heard rumor of one Star Wars one with a Han Solo/Chewbacca adventure with a little extra in it focused on Malcolm Reynolds from Firefly... woohoo!!

Don't bring it up- me and comic book stores don't mix well. I have about 300 books that I have pulled off the shelf to get rid of to make room for all the trades and graphic novels I have scattered all over!

Well...I did say they were free!!

No such thing as free! I'll walk out with a couple of free books and a hero click and begin browsing all over! Knowing my luck i'll find the 'Walking Dead omnibus' and decide not to eat for a week or two- What do you read Jeeves?

That's why I leave the credit card at home...that way if I see something I like I have the drive home to talk myself out of it!

I don't really read them anymore...this was moreso to get the kids out of the house and give them their first comic book. They got a free one and one I got for them. I did get into the Firefly graphic novels after really enjoying the series and Serenity movie. Was able to pick up the free Star Wars/Firefly issue today which is cool!!

That is cool- I love sci fi comics. Last few years I have been picking up Masterworks. I know you have seen some of those harcover reprints from Marvel. I added about 8 last year, this year hasn't been so kind.
