What a thrilling update! I'm glad to see this; I always wondered what was in that cabin below the loading deck. Your details really make this pop! Well done!

Thanks Duke, they did this area so that you can asssemble the doors opened or closed but the interior is completely empty, so I decided to make the interior with just one photo of the engine from a distance, so it's my interpretation of how it may have been.

Hi to all again, here we are with a new update, soldering all the hand rails and ladders and other modifications took longer than expected but here it is. The engine compartment is finished and painted.
The engine is painted and covered to paint around it
The control panel is done using styrene bits and various decals for the gauges, the opening is measured and the various hole sizes done with a punch
Two strips are glued to the sides to make deep for the hand wheel
The control panel installed
Now the rear coupler is modified so the pipes that run on the sides can pass through it
The plastic is cut on both sides of the rear of the coupling
The hole is smoothed and sanded to shape
With the correct shape done a strip of styrene is added as a flange
Both sides are done
It looks like this installed, the pipes now pass through it
The side platforms are now modified, the detail under it is corrected and the hand rails made
Top and bottom of the platforms
All the details from the bottom are sanded off
The new parts are cut to the correct size from styrene sheet
Both sides are done, now the hand rails are added
This are now finished
This is where the side platforms goes, the strange shaped bars are supposed to be large wrenches
Not sure what this are used for maybe assembly tools. So I removed the plastic where the end of the wrench goes
Now I used a panzer IV wrench from the tool set to make the heads for the new wrenches
The form is traced to styrene sheet
Now it looks like this
Now the looking pieces are made with styrene disk and a piece of rod
Finished, this is done on the other side also
Both sides’ ladders are made again from 1.5 brass rod, note the difference between the original and new one
The access to the top is also made bigger as the original is too small
Now it is bigger, the doors are also made bigger to match the new size of the access
I made the doors with a part of the original catwalk from the generator
The plastic is cut to size and sanded down to the correct thickness
The doors for both sides are done, it also received details from styrene and wire handles
The finished platform now looks like this
The elevators received new handrails from 1.5 brass made to the correct shape
Note that the shape is different on the elevators handrails
There is a support that goes in the middle of the loading platform body, it is missing on the kit
So after measuring and making the diagram I started to construct it
From styrene sheet and strips for flanges
The measurements are drawn on the styrene
The holes are cut open
The finished part with all the flange and reinforcements
The part is glued in place, big piece to be missing from the kit, right?
Have lots more of work done but this update is already too long so more soon and thanks for watching

HI friends, time for another update, more modifications are made in different areas of Dora,
Continuing with the ladders, the front and interior ladders are done, again using 1.5mm brass rod
This are the side balcony ladders measurements that I forgot to include in that post, so here it is
Here are the new interior ladders with measurements and the original for comparison, two are needed
Now the front access ladders
The first bend is done in the corrected angle
Note the difference with the original
The second bend is done
Next the steps are soldered to one side first and then the other side is soldered
Comparison with the original and the new measurements
Now the loading platform hand rails are modified again on the area around the elevators, after researching photos I noticed some differences and noted some hand rails are completely missing also on this area
The end of the hand rail is removed and the new short section added on each side
Here you can notice that the end of the rail base is longer, the last connecting point is in the air, so using a piece from the generator catwalk I added a strip to make the floor the same length so the corner rail pieces can be installed
Next the parts that complete the corner are soldered to the new short rail
Now more sections of rail are added around the elevators area, not made on the kit parts
Here the new rails can be seen in place
I now started to work on the loading ram and its base, it is modified and detailed
After studying the ram parts and loading table I concluded that the measurement on the kits ram tubes is the wrong number of sections and too short to load the shell completely into the breach, here I dry fitted the parts.
As you can see the ram is too short to completely load the shell
It is supposed to pass through the breech and into the barrel
This are the original ram parts
I replaced the parts with styrene tube and added an additional section to it, here are the originals and the new parts with measurements, the thinner tube is longer here, it was cut to the correct length later
The pushing disk is now glued to the new tube
Now it works as it is supposed to, passing through the breech
Works continues on this area with more detail added to the ram base and modifications to the loading bead
Missing access doors are made from styrene and brass wire for handles, styrene rod bits are used for bolt detail
The ribs on the ram base receive a flange made from 2.9 x .35mm strip
The disk that is stored on the front of the base need to be moved inwards a little so that two front plates can be installed
The grove for the disk is enlarged to allow it to move inwards
Also a channel was cut into the wheels support to allow the disk to be moved into the new position
This are the shape and measurements of the front plates
Using styrene sheet I made the two plates
It looks like this now
Still more work to do on the ram base so stay tuned and thanks for watching
