Don't no what to call this one.

Thanks to everybody . Now I have gone the other way and cannot make my mind up. So many good names. I think I can use alot of the names suggested for other dio,s aswell. Advance to the front and rush hour are I think the best suited for this one but I will not make a decision just yet.
Now here,s some progress. Mud has been formed and camo added to panzer IV. I am just trying the 251 to see how it looks. The bike with the sidecar is only their for set out I will be building a lion roar one for the dio.

Adam, only just come across this one. It looks ace up to now. I also thought "The underpass" or "No trains today". As Glenn said, it doesn't really matter, it's only a name!
Keep up the good work.

Gremlin,
Since the motor cycle is out front how about, "excuse me where are the girls?"
Cheers

That works!

Adam, I love the ground work you've done. Can you describe what you did and how? Pictures would be WAY COOL!

Very nice dio and stunning groundwork....

The dio looks busy to me, why not call it BUSY.... :) Just a suggestion. Thanks

Not sure what I can add in terms of titles, but I would love to know how you did the rock formations. I need to do something almost exactly like that for a diorama I'm working on.

Thanks

OK bare with me.
First the supply,s celluclay and shell grit.

sbs_009_20100114_1920111787.jpg

Mix celuclay with water,to form a smooth consistency. Add shell grit.
Mix to a ratio of 1 part shell grit 2parts celluclay.
Add any Earth colored acrylic paints now for ease of painting later
Lay a base coat on to your base in the basic shape you require. Let dry. It may take a few days depending on the weather and thickness.

Mix a new batch of celluclay add color as before but this time don't add any shell grit.( note the bucket that the celluclay is in with a air tight lid should last weeks as long as it is wet and sealed).

On your dry base add lumps of celluclay where you want your tracks to be.

cover with cling wrap.

I use an old tank as a tool to imprint the celluclay.
The same technique applies to wheeled vehicles. When you are satisfied with the look of the mud allow to dry. Once dry say after one week, start applying your dark colored paints on to the overall base and changing the color of the low points using lighter color paints mixed while still wet with the dark paints. Add some gloss to the troughs /low points and let dry.

The rocks are with casting plaster poured into some woodland scenic,s rock moulds.

Once dry you take the rocks from the mold and place them on your base, randomly fitting the rocks together. once happy that you have acheived the look you want you then use ready mixed wallboard plaster to stick them together. When the base is dry use acrylic paint washes to paint the rocks.

Hey, what do you know, I actually have some of those molds. And some hydrocol Plaster. And joint compound....I can do this!!! Thanks!!!

Hi Adam.

That is a great pair of S.B.S. guides there. Thanks for sharing. I have seen those woodland scenics rock molds before, and I think I might need some for a little diorama I hope to build in the very near future. I just hope I can pull it off as well as you did.

Just adding a little humor.

"No, you can't park that thing here."

"Hey, who taught you how to drive?"

"Where's a cop when you need one?"

"Where's the latrine?"

Bump - any updates on this one?

It's great composition, love the levels and the different textures, steel, stone, wheeled, tracked.

How about 'Stone Cold' or 'Cold as Stone' as a title

Thanks guys. An Update is coming very soon. I have just received my ground cover and tree kit from Ant at Treemendus. I think I will swap the Panther for a Tiger 1 and the Panzer 4 for a Stug 3.
