Do you know any US Living WWII Vets?

Joe Hudson

Master at Arms
A friend of mine posted this and I think it is really cool.

If you know any World War II veterans please let me know! There is a gentleman in my VFW post arranging for these men and women to travel to D.C. to see the WWII Memorial. This is a free trip, it's called the Honor Flight. They take them in wheelchairs, O2 and all if needed! Let me know if you have any questions!

If you do know of anyone please let me know and I will get you her info.

Thanks,

Joe

What a great service your friend is doing Joe. The Vets I know have been but I will check with them if they are interested. Unfortunately all the WW2 Vets I knew when I was young are now gone.

Thanks Bob. Yes, it is really good for these guys and ladies. I too no longer know any living ones but wish I knew now what I did not know then so that I could have really appreciated them.

I know 2, one was a p-40 and later a P-47 pilot for the 57th fighter group, John's about 94 now.And his plane has been imortalized in several kits and a set of decals-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:P-47D_Wicked_Rabbit.jpg
And the other came up Omaha Beach from a higgins boat on D-day. he was 20 when he stepped off the boat. I'll let their sons/ Grand sons know.

This is a great thing. Thanks for sharing.
