I use Tamiya's fine surface primer. I have tried Vallejo primer, but didn't really like it. Maybe it was me not putting on a good coat with the airbrush, Idk. Anyway The Tamiya rattle can primer always lays down a flawless smooth finish for me.That is pretty much what I read. I know that many acrylics are rather picky about the thinners used especially when spraying the paint. This is the first model I am doing with Vallejo for the final colors. What do you use for your primers Tim?
I use Testors clear dullcote to lock in paint during the painting process and for the final clear coat. I have tried Vallejo's clear varnish, but didn't like it for the same reason I don't like their primer. Testors has never disappointed me.
