B)
The brass guns really add to the detail at this scale. Can't wait to see more.

Cheers all! :drinks

hope to see a great job!
Luiz, I hope so too! :D

Here is a bit of an update on this one, I'm still painting details so these are not finished yet
DSC_6277spf.jpg

heaps of smaller bits to go in, don't know why I painted the front gun cluster parts as these will be completely hidden once the nose is all glued up
DSC_6279sp.jpg

and my camera does not like chromate green!

wings, tailplane, nacelles all glued up, next up dry fitting and weight testing to get this to sit right, lead sinkers ready to fit
DSC_6280sp.jpg

that's about all for now.

Re: CTA Entry - Phil - Revell B-25J Gun Nose

Sorry I missed this, Phil. The brass machine guns really look good! (y)

Re: CTA Entry - Phil - Revell B-25J Gun Nose

No probs there Mike, there are so many awesome builds going on here I'm finding it hard to catch up!

Cheers!

Cheers Kiwi G !

A question of balance - perfect!

sorted the lead weights out tonight, sits very nice now without the tail support .
Three flattened and shaped sinkers in the nosecone around the gun platform, and one in the bombardiers crawl space just under the pit floor

Just about finished the interior painting/detailing so almost time for some serious building :yipee

Can anyone tell me what the two small protruding round tabs are at the back of each engine nacelle?

Re: CTA Entry - Phil - Revell B-25J Gun Nose

They are vent and drain lines for the fuel system. First appeared on the B-25C.

Cheers,
Richard

Re: CTA Entry - Phil - Revell B-25J Gun Nose

Thanks! replacement brass scratch ones coming up, these are already bent and just begging to break off

Re: CTA Entry - Phil - Revell B-25J Gun Nose

Re: CTA Entry - Phil - Revell B-25J Gun Nose

Wow, I've had a hard time even getting on the Forums for some serious browsing; this was well worth stopping in for! Brilliant work on this model; I surely love the brass barrels.

Re: CTA Entry - Phil - Revell B-25J Gun Nose

Cheers guys!

Thanks Richard, great photo for reference! (y)

Ok here is the rear gun that I started to ''gunmetal'', will do a bit more on it for a guide for the rest of the brass sets

the start of the very satisfying gluing in of the finally painted up interior parts!
Since most will disappear when the fuse is closed up I have started to post up the progress

waiting for the IP decal to settle down before it goes in, drying now pit section not glued in yet!
DSC_6364xd.jpg

started the rear gunners section, no seat in this kit, or did he just kneel for the whole mission??!!
DSC_6365xd.jpg

A camera is supplied, the mounting point cleverly positioned above a main join ''pipe'' that interferes with the part - one sharp blade fixed that.

Did the aircraft have a glass window in the bottom of the fuselage?
this shows as a panel
DSC_6369xc.jpg

very tempted to cut this out and add a leftover clear piece.

Re: CTA Entry - Phil - Revell B-25J Gun Nose

There should be a window below the K-24 Camera.

A couple of pics of the camera installation from Mid-Atlantic Museum's B-25J "Briefing Time"

b25_waist_14.jpg

On most missions there were only two crewmen stationed in the the aft fuselage, the Rear Gunner
and the Radio Operator/Waist Gunner/Camera Operator who manned both waistguns. The Rear Gunner would join
the Radio Operator on the two seats that the kit has on the LH side for take-offs and landings. The camera
was set to automatically begin taking pictures at regular intervals with the opening of the bomb bay doors
but could be run manually.

Cheers,
Richard

Re: CTA Entry - Phil - Revell B-25J Gun Nose

Great references Richard, were all the B25s fitted with the cameras?

Looking good Phil :pilot

Re: CTA Entry - Phil - Revell B-25J Gun Nose

That camera position started with the B-25H's, earlier models had a circular port aft of the rear entrance hatch.
Some aircraft had field installed cameras in the former rear gun position on the earler models.
Some of the strafers had aft facing camera blisters installed under the aft fuselage.

Cheers,
Richard

Re: CTA Entry - Phil - Revell B-25J Gun Nose
